Sandra
Saunders was born in Wisconsin in 1941. She grew up in various
Wisconsin towns, including Janesville, Green Bay, and the Milwaukee
area. In 1981, she moved to Waukesha, where she taught children's art
at the local YMCA. She
started winning awards in grade school and
high school. She attended the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, St.
Scholastica College, and the old Layton School of Art.
Her
works have been shown at the Gallery of Wisconsin
Art
in Milwaukee; Wallis Works
in Door County; Choice's Gallery
in Lake Geneva; the I-94/83
Gallery
in Delafield; Lange's in Tucson, Arizona; Truman Arthur Collection
in Vero Beach, Florida; and other galleries. Her works are a
perennial favorite on the juried Channel 10/36 Auction. One of
her paintings now hangs at the Paine Art Center and Arboretum in
Oshkosh, Wisconsin; many others reside in private collections all
over the world.
