
Using the Blue Box, you can help the environment at the ease of being
home. Simply distribute your recyclables into the correct bags / box.
There is the Blue Bag, the Yellow Bag, and the Blue Box.
Simple steps to using the Blue Box effectively
- Sort your recyclables into the correct container.
- Separate Blue and Yellow Bags from Blue Box
and do not place bags at bottom of box. Place
bags beside or on top of the Blue Box.
- Rinse glass and plastic containers and remove
lids and caps.
- Remove paper labels from metal cans.
- Squash items and collapse boxes.

Additional items have been added to the existing list of materials banned from garbage:
- Automotive oil and oil filters
- Corrugated cardboard
- Drywall (gypsum/gyproc)
- Electronics (computers, printers, TVs)
- Flammable liquids and solvents
- Gasoline
- Household paints, stains, and aerosols
- Lead acid (car) batteries
- Metal and glass food containers
- Mixed paper, directories, and magazines
- Newsprint
- Pesticides
- Plastic containers numbered 1, 2, 4, 5
- Prescription and non-prescription drugs
- Vehicle tires
- Yard and garden trimmings
