Indian Movie Scene

General feeling in the Western Countries is that the West is emancipated (culturally and sexually) and all other cultures are primitive or far behind. If one carefully examines the facts - either the ancient literature or current trends - we get some surprises. Indians wrote the first treatise on sex (Kamasutra) while the West was still considering sex as sin. Indian temples depicted sexual postures in all possible combinations. Religious literature in India does not depict sex as sin. The 'emancipation' we see in the West is a creation of the post-war industrial progress... a creation of the city affluence.

Today if we look at the movie scene, surprisingly this trend continues. Western Movies shows stereotyped females - most of them resembling models (and not human beings). The physical features of a standard English/American actress has to fit in the features of a model. Anything else is not acceptable.

So it is not surprising that Western actresses never appear with armpits hair in the movies (with some rare excpetions) and they do not show cleavages or navels. This is true even if the theme of the movies is related to sex. In fact sexual activities in a Hollywood movie is confined to lip-kissing and straight into love-making. Nothing else.

Some Refreshing Scences from Indian Movies - sexy display of armpits (though clean shaven), navel and belly. Revealing but not naked or vulgar.
