Chapter 13 |
"Fall on real life,
Is anybody left here sane?
If we slide on over and accept fate
Then its bound to be a powerful thing"
Kian closed the car door behind him and went after Graham up to the front door. "Its so strange Graham where could he have gone?" His voice was distressed, showing a great amount of worry.
"Ki, I-"
"I mean, what if something has happened to him Im really worried!" Kian put the key in the lock, obviously not listening to his friend. "You wanna stay the night?"
Graham shrugged. "You want me to?"
Kian nodded, slowly, "Please."
Graham said nothing and followed him inside. Kian sure looked like he could use some company right then.
It had all started that afternoon. Kian had called Graham Shane was gone. Hed gone to visit Shane at the hospital, and he was gone When Graham arrived police were at the scene and said hed climbed out the window. There had been this doctor, Dr. OConnell, insisting that Shane was mad and hed said that Shane should have been locked up in some mental institution. His blabbering on about how "that mad man" would harm himself out in the outside world all on his own certainly hadnt helped Kian a bit.
They had driven around Sligo the whole evening trying to find Shane. It was now going on midnight and Graham had decided that Kian needed a rest. Kian had been too tired and worried to put up a fight and agreed.
Graham made some tea and sandwiches, having been in Kians house so many times that he knew it like his own, then joined Kian in the living room. Kian had the TV on, although the sound was off. The news were on.
"Just wanted to make sure it hasnt reached the press yet." Kian said as a way of explanation as he accepted the cup of hot liquid.
Graham nodded. That would be like Kian, despite everything he would always worry about the band, too.
"Oh, Graham, Im so darn worried They do their first check-up at half seven in the morning! Shanes been hes been out there for, surely almost 20 hours... its cold, hes alone and " Kian lowered his voice as he finished his sentence, "hes mentally unstable."
Graham sighed. "Kian, Im sure hell be all right. Well find him, I promise."
Kians eyes were filling over with tears. "But, everyone recognises him everyone in the police have photos, so many men out searching... they should have found him by now "
Graham put his arms around Kian and pulled him close. Why did this have to happen at all? He had to keep thinking positively he still thought positively. Shane was going to get back safely. They were going to find him, and by then he really hoped both Kian and Shane would have thrown their fears aside and tell each other their feelings. Maybe this was Gods way to get them to accept fate because they just seemed destined to be together, anyone that knew them could see that.
