Jacob watched Ashley’s fingers on the strings of the guitar. Ashley’s voice was deep with emotion as he sang the first few lines of the song they had just completed together. Jacob wondered if Ashley was thinking what he was thinking.

Ashley looked up from the guitar. "Did that sound all right?" Jacob nodded. It had sounded more than all right. He just didn’t know if it was the song or just Ashley singing in general. Ashley looked back down at the guitar and played over the chords again.

Ashley felt Jacob’s eyes on him and looked up. "What?"

Jacob shrugged. "Nothing, I was just… nothing."

"Ok." Ashley turned his concentration back to the guitar in his hands.

Jacob was ready to give up his solos in the song, Ashley’s voice suited the song so well. Fantastic. Ashley looked up again. "Was that all right so?"

Jacob smiled, "Yes Ash, it was great. Just as it was last time you played it, and the time before that, remember?" Ok, Jacob hadn't exactly minded Ashley playing through it a few extra times - anything to hear that angelic voice - but now he was heading towards a spot where he had no self-control. God, how much didn't he want Ashley's hands on him rather than the guitar?

Ashley put the guitar away. "Maybe you're right. We'll see with the guys tomorrow." He went and sat beside Jacob. "Are you all right, J?"

Jacob looked at him. "Yeah?"

Ashley shrugged, "Ok... you just seemed a bit pre-occupied today." Pre-occupied, yeah. His mind had been occupied by one sole thing the past few weeks. Ashley.

Ashley's eyes were burning on him again. "What now?" It was making him feel uncomfortable. "Ash, stop staring."

Ashley redirected his gaze to Jacob's chest, before his eyes came back up and landed on his lips. Jacob shuddered slightly. Ashley's gaze seemed so... searching. Suddenly, Ashley leaned forward and before his brain had time to register what was about to happen, Ashley mouth was clamped over his own.

As Jacob started to register what was happening he also started to respond to the kiss. As Ashley pulled back he was breathless. Ashley smiled. "J, let's stop pretending."

Jacob looked up, "What do you mean?"

Ashley laughed, the kind of laugh that almost sounds like a spring rain or a small waterfall. "You want me, I want you, but none of us say a thing. It's like, hilarious!"

Jacob almost choked. "You...you want me?"

Ashley's gazed fixed on him. "Wasn't that kinda obvious just now."

"Erm... right, yeah." Jacob was lost for words. Ashley was so blatant, was he joking? No, he didn't look like he was.

Ashley moved closer. "So, what do you say?"

Jacob was startled as he'd been drifting off into his own thoughts. "What? Oh, yeah, let's do that."

Ashley leaned in the last bit to place his head on Jacob chest. "I love you," he said softly.

Jacob looked at him. Suddenly, the words came so easily. "I love you too."
