First Meeting

Pairing: Ashley/Jacob - Jacob's POV

Rating: PG

Warning: Sickly sweet story

I’m beginning to feel as if there was no use in going to this audition. All those hopefulls. Do I even stand a chance? Half those people look a bit dolled up. So sweet and innocent. I’m certain I have the talent, but do I have the look to get in?

All this waiting around is not good for me. Look, already I’m starting to question why I’m here. I’m here ‘cause I want to make it big. Ok, a boyband mightn’t be the ideal way, but hey when it’s over I can continue my career whatever way I want to!

So, I ought to socialise a little. Go and talk to someone. But who? Wait, who’s that guy? He looks nice. I’d bet all I have right now that he’ll make it into this band. All the little girls will fancy him, definitely.

Blond hair… Oh, he’s looking my way. Blue eyes… such blue eyes. His smile brights the whole room up… I know that I probably have the stupidest grin on my face.

He looks shy. Will I go over? What kind of wuestion is that? I wan’t to know his name, don’t I? Yeah, Jacob, come on. I feel like my body is working on it’s own as I walk over. There, I’m face to face with him now. What will I say?

"Hey, I’m Jacob Underwood." Did that sound all right? Probably, he smiles – he’s got a killer smile – and shakes my hand.

"I’m Ashley, Ashley Angel."

Ashley Angel. Yes, he does look a bit like an angel. A halo and a pair of wings are all that’s missing.

"So, where are you from?" Concentrate Jacob, he’s talking to you.

"California."

"So am I, where?"

"San Diego."

"Ah, I’m from Redding myself."

"Ok." Think of something to say. Don’t let there be a tense silence. Come on. It’s useless, his smile is distracting me from thinking.

He looks up at the stage. "That guy is well talented."

"Uh-huh." He was, honestly. Ashley looks back at me, those blue eyes are piercing.

"He’s Dan Miller, I spoke to him before."

"Ok." I look up at the stage again, I really don’t really like Dan’s top.

I guess I space out for a while. Ashley touching my arm brings me back to reality. "I’d better be off, I’m on stage soon. I’ll see you I guess."

I nod, "Ok, nice talking to you."

"Yeah, you too, see you!"

He’s gone. I’m left in awe over this man. It’s like… I’ve been touched by an angel. I really hope I make it along side him.
