In loving memory

John Edward Kasper

February 4, 1957 October 24, 2005

Thank you for joining us today to honor a

colorful and many-faceted man.

John Edward Kasper was many things to many people,

and went by many names.

He was John to business associates and the community of Kentucky Avenue School, Ed to his family, and Johan to his friends in the Society for Creative Anachronism.

Because each of those "personas" was a little different, we have asked friends from each aspect of his life to speak about the talented, funny, hard-working, exasperating, interesting and admirable man they knew.

After the memorial service, guests are invited to go through the door to the right of the altar, where you can greet Johns family, see photos and memorabilia from Johns life and have refreshments provided by good friends including Steve Morrisson, aka Master Alastar Scott MacCrummin.

You are also encouraged to go down the stairs and through the door to the left to see Kentucky Avenue School, where Johns sons Kenneth and Robert are students and where John spent many hours renovating classrooms.

Teachers and staff will be in those rooms and are eager to show you the work John has done for the school.

The Kasper family would like to thank Reverend Vance "Trip" Torbert, organist Preston Showman, Sexton Patrick Vandiver and everyone at the Third Presbyterian Church for their kindness and assistance. We would also like to thank Kentucky Avenue School for joining us in this tribute, including canceling classes so that members of the school community could attend todays memorial service.

Thank you to pallbearers Eli Baird, Mark Caloyer,

Bob Hutton, Ben Cogan, Robert Smith, and

Andrew Kobayashi.
