’Cuz the stars already
crossed our paths forever,
And the sooner that we
realize it the better.

ABOUT THESE SOUTHERN PAGES

For almost thirty-five years I have been very interested in astronomy, and after years of contemplating, I decided to convert my writings of my general experiences and observations onto the Web to share with the world. These pages are a modest collection of the astronomical articles that I have written as papers, collected articles, or have presented as selected talks to several local astronomical societies. Others also have been reproduced from my own notes as an adult educator at various Evening Colleges.

Many who maybe familiar with my previous works will find these are new or new version to the reader - several being rewrites or are those that have just needed a few small general updates with modern discoveries or knowledge. Some are brand new articles that have appeared nowhere else. The main ones of these are the “Classic Deep-Sky and Double Stars” articles, that include the cremè de la cremè of the southern skies. I have also added a few northern ones just to keep those readers happy. Bien, c’est la ve!

This slow evolution has eventually created these humble pages which are now in the third incarnation. I do hope you enjoy this modest compilation!
