| Earths Promise Heavenly light shines down upon the earth, breathing life into the cold, forsaken earth. Exotic flora spring from the ground, overtaking the area where the light touches. Slowly, as it reaches levels the earth cannot contain, green tendrils snake up from the ground, embracing those nearby. The magic heals superficial cuts, bruises, and the like immediately, but if one so chose, the wisps of life swirl around the injured until bones are mended, diseases cured (which takes far longer depending on severity a broken bone would require a full hours remedy, a fatal disease a day or more). Tranquil Siege The ultimate form of restorative magic, it reigns over chaos, maintaining homeostasis in the most extreme conditions. A clear opalescent orb continuously pulsates around Kei, negating magical change within a five foot radius. Whether curative, offensive, or defensive, most common spells and energy will dissipate, their force brought to a halt. Stronger spells, focused on Kei himself will penetrate the anti-magic field but will still be reduced significantly. If magic has already changed something, this will not change it back but it will prevent change. Appearance: Kei has a fighters build, standing at a slightly shorter height of 57. From his back expands two immaculate white wings, with a wing span of 14 feet. They are usually tucked back, but are in no way hidden. His clothes could be considered quite fashionable among the destitute at least. He wears loose fitting, ragged pants; and a heavily patched Chinese shirt, his old favorite. His sandals straps have long been replaced with whatever straw he can acquire. Though his clothes may have gathered an eternal fine layer of dust, but he tries to best to stay clean himself. His black hair is usually unkempt, but looking nice as possible (its hard to give yourself haircuts). Around his neck, dangles a lucid crystal encased by mythril, the angels tear. Transformed Appearance: Keis cloaked in an elegant warrior monks uniform. Its a flowing gray-white, like unreflective silver. Gold lines the uniform, and the only hard armor consists two arm bands, which house sapphire colored gems. Personality: Kei, on the outside, always seems calm and amiable; he feels that the gift of life is sacred, and should be savored. Always on the look out for some fun and laughs, he almost never frowns. Internally, he tries his best to cope with exile, to makes sense of his purpose. His emotions are intense, which may sometime distract him from others - though he feels no one could share his position, and tries to remain silent. He is always ready to act quickly and decisively for others. History: (I extended it to serve as a writing sample) Kei was born to the small communitys master healer, Tokai and his wife, Meiko. Of course, this meant he also received preferential treatment as a child, and went about the typical high class lifestyle receiving the best education and warrior training found in Osetia. He shared his wealth openly and freely with his friends, and was well like in his town. Those seventeen blissful years now seem to be infinitely distant to him. One fateful night, he happened upon a disheveled girl, softly weeping in his secret place beneath the waterfall. She was beautiful, and her moonlit radiance captured Keis heart. He stepped softly next to her, her pale skin brilliant in the darkness he could think of nothing to say, but to place a hand on her shoulder. Startled, she fell away, scraping at the ground behind her trying to run. Its ok he whispered, and slowly started a fire to warm her up. With her back against the far cavern wall, she timidly begin to inch toward the fire the pair spent the first night in silence. He brought her food, bedding, spare clothing and everyday they learned a little more about each other, and sat a littler closer every time they would meet. Her name was Laomi, and she was a demon. Humans, whose fear has driven them to madness, attacked her village far away from here and after burning down and destroying her home, chased after her all the way out here. She often wept, thinking of her mother, father, and brother who may have killed, or else wandering the lonely world as she was. Kei remained silent, and simply took her hand in his. Kei awoke with a start; there was a large commotion in the village center. A ragged band of human mercenaries had come in search of Laomi, and accusing the town mayor of housing her within our walls. Old Ghoka tell the men to leave immediately, that we have not seen anymore, and it was not of our concern and they were about to. When the village asked Kei if he knew anything, he lied through his teeth. Until suddenly, a man came running up to the leader of these rouges, and he sneered, Shes under the waterfall. Kei hurled himself down the gorges of Osetia, dashing across the jagged rocks, ignoring the blood trickling down his limbs. He saw Laomi running desperately along the shallow river, four grinning heathens and their leader in hot pursuit. Kei threw open his wings, soaring down to Laomis rescue. The man in front drew back his spear, ready to launch it the demoness as Keis foot shattered the weapon, and suddenly darkness enveloped him and a vicious uppercut was delivered to his jaw. He wheeled behind a large boulder as he heard the piercing cry of arrows, dust and chips flew everywhere as the arrows struck the rock. As they stepped closer, Kei leapt over the boulder while overhead, grabs the middle soldiers halberd, bringing it to his neck in a choke hold. A man stood on either side of him, both with crossbows loaded both unsure of what to do. The rest of the town arrived upon the scene, shocked at what they saw. His family and old man Ghoka stepped forward. Kei, have you gone insane!? Stop! Shes innocent! help me stop them, please The villagers stood, dumbfounded. Laomi, in tears, fell to her knees behind several feet behind Kei. Kei released his choke hold, and hammered the mans head into the boulder with a kick. He spun quickly, kicking out the knee of the left soldier, violently cracking his head with the pole of the halberd. The other let his arrow fly, striking Kei in his right wing. Wincing, he thrust the halberd underneath his arm, behind him; striking the remaining soldier in the chin. Gritting his teeth, he painfully pulled out the arrow the pain almost causing him to black out. Laomi ran to his side, sobbing in his arms. Breathing a sigh of relief, he closed his eyes to rest for just a bit. The villagers alarmed cry made him snap his eyes open and the leaders sword was bearing down upon them. Panicking, he shoved her out of the way reflexively and drove his halberd upwards he felt a blade dig deep into his side, and a shower of blood clouded his vision, and he fell unconscious. When he awoke, she was gone. No one dared to speak to him, even his father and mother, while tending to his wounds, would not meet his eye. That day Ghoka told him his crimes he had betrayed his village, that he had murdered another, he had brought the ire of the surrounding villages upon his own and with that, regrettably exiled him from Osetia. When Kei asked where Laomi had gone Ghoka told him she had disappeared into the woods. With a heavy heart, Kei gathered his things, traveling down to the waterfall one last time; he found a gem awaiting him the angels tear. Putting it around his neck, he set out to find her, and to redeem himself to his village. |
