An Introduction

On this homepage a new Fantasy world is under construction. I already started describing the world, its inhabitants and cultures; As this homepage is new, I can give only a short introduction of what the world is about.
I don't plan to construct this world all alone, so I invite everyone to help me making this world an attractive place. There is need of myths, city descriptions, descriptions of flora and fauna of Arendra, descriptions of the different cultures and races, namely dwarfs, elfs, leprechauns and orcs (and maybe others).
I do not think I will create a rule system of my own for my world, so just play with any known RPG or, if you like, send me a system developed by yourself.
To view my site in all its beauty, you can download these fonts: Black Chancery,
Celtic MD and   Carolingia.

Up to now lamentably not all links are available, but there is already information about Religion, History, Languages, Society, Military and in the Nations sections "The Empire", Iliraith, Nabi and "The Plains".
Please write me, if you want to work on this project. I would be happy for help correcting my English (I know it's bad).
All backgrounds and images on my pages come from a few cool clipart sites. Check out the links

Until now there is only a vague concept existent, of how this world will look like.
Here a short introduction: The gods wrath comes upon our beloved lands-their children have lost the faith. They send us Falei, the executor of the armageddon, to end our pathetic existance.
Yet his arrival is preceded by volcano eruptions, arendraquakes and tsunamis, the past winter was cold, and the resulting crop failure costed thousands of lives.
Then, some years ago, the wife of Edraminiula, the ruler of the Teshu empire, gave birth to twins, half human half spiders, the creatures of Falei. The citizens of Nandim marched to the emperor's palace to kill the royal family, but from the sky a legion of demons descended and massacred the rebels. Nobody knows, what really happened on this day, for the few survivors cannot tell, as they are in the firm grip of madness.

Only due to Amkin, the court's mage, we were freed from this sinister demon master. Unfortunately Amkin died too in this surely epic battle, and the demons, that were called still menace our lands.
After these incidents the empire fell to pieces, there is little political order left, and where this is the case, the cities are mostly ruled by dark mages or theocracies, sacrificing thousands of lives on their altars in the hope of salvation for the others. Hordes of orcs are plundering and pillaging the eastern regions of the empire, the elves are preparing a crusade on humanity, whom they consider the responsibles for the coming armageddon.
But still there are cities and places, where people do not think only in categories of fundamentalism and particularism, who do not fall in apathy and lethargy in the face of the end of days.
A handfull ancient orders from the time before even the empire existed is already awaiting the armageddon since centuries and is now preparing to face the evil forces of Falei and to save the world's existance.

The World of Arendra is an earthlike planet, but unlike our planet it surrounds two suns. The more distant sun (Falei) comes dangerously close, causing natural disasters and a rise of magical power. This constellation of the suns I'll call "Perihelion".
Although I try to create cultures very different from earth cultures, I loan names as well as some religious ideas from the ancient orient, smaller details from a variety of ancient cultures. It is surely of use if you read some book about the Babylonians, Assyrians or Persians (or the bible maybe?!).
Playing Characters on Arendra are supposed to be members of one of the ancient orders, as this surely is more thrilling than playing a wandering shoemaker...

Well, that was a short introduction for you of what is happening right now on Arendra.
Check out the links below at the bottom to find out more and e-mail me if you want to contribute something to the development of Arendra or to tell me your opinion about my project. You may send me articles in German, Spanish, French or Italian too, if that is easier for you.

Thank you for visiting my homepage, yours
