Confinement of a Criminal
3.05.05

Hit repeat and watch the laughter float
Upwards, upwards, like spiraling smoke
Burning down on the pain until it’s only numbness
You can’t feel anything anymore, except maybe a little ecstasy

Addiction seeps through the floorboards
Like sweet temptations calling out your name
It’s a sacred name, not to be tread upon lightly
I utter it with the utmost care
If I’m not fragile here, it might crack and break

Such beauty enamors every aspect
Every breath is another enigma to dissect
Peel apart and piece back together
Do you believe I can do it?
Do you believe in anyone, anymore?

In your head, there are a thousand doors
They each lead to a different section
A new beginning, a new era
Save the game, hit start
And we’ll fall into each other’s arms
Playing nothing more than pretend

But if you choose this door and I choose that
I’m willing to throw it all away
Just to chase you, forever and tomorrow
Because I don’t let deities slip away

Worship, repeat, smile, repeat
It’s all redundancy inside my mind
You’re trying to smile, just for me
But you just don’t have the time

So do you believe I can do it?
Do you believe in anyone, anymore?
You’re something of unprecedented beauty...
But you’ve hidden yourself behind that magic door
For which I lost the key.

<---<--- catch me as i fall? [CS]
