Laughter's Ghost
12.05.04
Something new is falling downwards
From a frosted sky
It’s something familiar, falling
In-between the you and the I
These words are scribbled on blackboards cracking
Fading, turning back to dust
Which, in essence was their sustainer
Of a life none cared for, much
Condemned in memories clouded
Is how she will remember that cold purple sky
And through their laughter, her tears are shed
No one dares question why
Someone else is failing, slowly
Although it is faster than most
There’s nothing left to keep them sustained
But that of laughter’s ghost
Don’t laugh now, love
While the night is young and new
There’s something familiar about this which I love
Something in-between the I and the you
But words were not meant to fall, depleted
Between the lines so blurred
And when you open your eyes, defeated
You’ll see the lonely remains of your beloved earth
Draw the black curtains now
Draw them down to cover the tears
The laughter echoes within your mind
And you’ll never erase the fear
In emptiness, she will rot away
Until their remains fade
But while bones may turn back to dust
Pain within the lingering spirits
Is doomed to forever remain
<--- fall into my patterened tears... [return]
<---<--- catch me as i fall? [CS]
