Your master plan is over
Ruined by those who know so less
But hold themselves so high above
Your perfection so perfectly conceived- it’s broken
Do you cry over it every now and then?
Are you that human?
You were that human once, I remember it like I was there
Maybe the rain is your tears
Then I want to catch every drop
I want to hold each one in my hand
And cry along with you
For that perfection I helped destroy
Unwillingly, unknowningly
But you knew, I don’t know why you didn’t stop it
But then again, I’ve never understood much
You aren’t so easily seen through
It takes an imaginative mind to think away you
And sometimes I wish I was better at ignoring your words
Still I know- without you everything would hurt worse
Do you cry when I pretend you aren’t there?
Are you that human?
Do you need to be loved just as much as every single one of us does?
Maybe the rain is your tears
Then I want to catch every drop
I want to hold each one in my hand
And cry along with you
For that love I refused to give
Knowningly, tearfully
And you knew, I don’t know why you didn’t stop me
But then again, I’ve never understood much
Would I have recognized-
The look in the eyes
Of the one sent for me?
The rescuer sent to rescue me-
From amidst this darkness’ sea
Drowning within myself
Would I have seen you- hidden within the crowd?
I see you now, I want to hear you whisper
Even while screams abound
Maybe the rain is your tears

For the one that I killed
The one killed at my expense-
Killed at the world’s hand
We claim our immunity to guilt
But then again, we never do understand
Do you shed tears now and then?
Are you that human?

Did you know my name, feel my pain, carry my bane?
A heart so humane, a love so untamed
