Imaginary Friend
2.21.04

Hello, Mr. Imaginary Friend
Haven’t seen you lately-
It’s nice to just sit and talk to you again

Yes, I’m fine
How have you been?
I’ve missed our chats-
I’ve missed your sheepish grin

You know, I never got over myself
The day you left
You are the only one I had left
But you left me broken and pretended you didn’t realize
Don’t look now, ignore the tears at my eyes
(They’re only the reminder of a lie)

Dear Mr. Imaginary Friend
Wake me up after this dream
I don’t want to stand and watch helpless again
Dear Mr. Imaginary Friend
I missed you, but I’ve watched the wounds fade to scars
And there’s no going back now, falling into the stars
It’s gone- you lost it
I’m gone- you lost me
You’re gone- you lose

Good morning, Mr. Imaginary Friend
I see you’ve come back-
Here to torment me again?

I’ve changed, you know
Not the same person I used to pretend to be
Ripped off any masks
Everyone hates it- but at least now I’m me
(Not so imaginary...)

I know you never got over me
That’s why you are here
Why you won’t leave me here
Sometimes I’d rather you’d just leave me to my tears
I won’t look now, I’ll just turn my eyes (from you)
(You’re only the reminder of the day after day deaths I faced)

Dear Mr. Imaginary Friend
Wake me up after this dream
I don’t want to stand and watch helpless again
Dear Mr. Imaginary Friend
I missed you, but I’ve watched the wounds fade to scars
And there’s no going back now, drowning in my pool of stars
It’s gone- you lost it
I’m gone- you lost me
You’re gone- you lose

I can’t make up my mind
You hurt me, I hurt you
I forgive you, I want to hurt you again
It’s a never-ending circle
A horrendous pattern-
And it’s your fault

Reach for the flickering light of the stars...
The celestial heavens, they’re all ours

All mine...
All yours...
All gone...

Dear Mr. Imaginary Friend
Wake me up after this dream
I don’t want to stand and watch helpless again
Dear Mr. Imaginary Friend
I missed you, but I’ve watched the wounds fade to scars
And there’s no going back now, the moon ate the stars
It’s gone- you lost it
I’m gone- you lost me
You’re gone- you lose

The moon-
Ate the stars...
You lose-
Ate the stars...
The moon-
Ate the stars...
You lose-
Ate the stars, again

Hello, Mr. Imaginary Friend
The specters of the past we choose to forget can bleed, after all
You bleed, after all...

<--- fall into my patterened tears... [return]
<---<--- catch me as i fall? [AA]
