Watching from behind these walls
I’m safe here, it makes me never want to leave
So secure, so rooted in these lies
Drowning inside, drowning inside
Watching them move slowly by
Chained- lost and empty
We scoff, we laugh, we point
Shake our heads, watch them wallow in their shame
Hypocritical- critical cases in the end
Claiming that we aren’t the same, we’ll never be the same
Watching from our soap boxes
Lives as unrealistic as a soap opera
We’re paying money for our differences
Promising away all of the false things in this world
But we’re different, so we say
While we’re drowning too, just like them-
All the same
Watching with our fake smiles
Our fake words and fake friends
It’s all in our heads in the end
Yes, I’m drowning in these lies-
These thoughts within my head
Watching, wondering if they wonder about us
Thinking we’re so unique, so pure, so clean
But there’s nothing inside
Just like them, identical twins
Drowning inside, deep inside
A different shade of emptiness- but we’re still the same as them
