Questioning

She sits in silent questioning
Dreaming away the night
No matter what songs they bring
She will never be alright

And hope is just a fantasy
A mirage mixed and lost
Sometimes voices comfort me
But they will not restore the loss

Her voice is soft and cold
Too old to be known
The ice is melting, cracking and ending
But where, she wonders, was its beginning?

They have forgotten and it is just as well

Delving into the darkness
Of a road less usually traveled
Forgetting what you were born to learn
And dying for what you were meant to live for

Is there anything to question?
In these halls of mine-
Now I wonder whether or not they belong
In these blue-bled fingertips that hold their cry

Teardrops fall between my fingers
Resting into the blood
The ocean holds so many secrets-
But hides them from us

If something was meant to be
I can only wait
But waiting is not for me-
Pounding at the gate

Fists bleeding and in a twirl
The silver light explodes-
Open your eyes to see the black
Before the life returns

I cannot breath a moment’s length
Across the dark-bred bridge
Hiding from their towering strength
But I have given all I was never meant to give

<--- fall into my patterened tears... [return]
<---<--- catch me as i fall? [AA]
