Doctor Who: Jon Pertwee

See the Doctor Regenerate

This incarnation of the Doctor was played by Jon Pertwee. He played the Doctor from 1970-1974. This incarnation of the Doctor managed to successfully combine the best qualities of the two previous regenerations. He also claimed to be about 625 years old. Give or take a few decades. He was interested in people but used greater discretion in helping them. A middle-aged man, he was a commanding figure with curly, silver hair, luxuriant sideburns, and firm, jutting jaw. He dressed and acted in a flamboyant way. He wore a Victorian-style velvet smoking jacket and occasionally a flowing black cape. Warm and out-going, he was also serenely confident and capable. He also showed great affection to his companions. Even though in this regeneration the Doctor was an expert engineer, being able to completely disassemble the TARDIS and reassemble it again the Time Lords as part of his exhile took away the dematerialization circuit and his memory of time travel theory which prevented the TARDIS from moving anywhere. However he preferred instead to travel around in either an antique yellow roaster he name Bessie or in the Whomobile a vehicle of his own design. In this incarnation the Doctor developed a bitterness and almost hatefull attitude towards the Time Lords for exhiling him which would also in later incarnations surface. Most of the Doctor's time in this incarnation was working for UNIT. UNIT (United Nations Intelligence Taskforce) was under the command of Brigadier Alasitor Gordon Lethbridge Stewart. The Doctor had worked with the Brigadier when he was a Colonial. Now the Doctor came on as the Brigadier's Scientific Advisor. It was in this regeneration that the Doctor meet his greatest enemy and rival The Master.(see Monsters) The Master like the Doctor was a renegade Time Lord. However the Master unlike the Doctor created chaos and destruction. The Inner Council of the Time Lords eventually pardoned the Doctor, but only after he had defeated Omega the long thought dead creator of Gallifreyian time technology. Finally at the end of his 125 years in his 3rd body the Doctor was mortally wounded in a rebellion of humans against a race of spiders. Dying, the Doctor turned to the help of a fellow Time Lord with extreme healing powers named Kan'Po. He then regenerated.
