After reading Flatland and Sphereland, I started thinking about dimensions in a very different way, considering them as real things, and noting relationships between them and especially how to recognize higher dimensions. Also reading some relativity stuff at the time, it seemed to me that although time was often loosely called a dimension, everybody was conveniently avoiding making any commitment to what that meant. Time is obviously NOT like the other dimensions. I haven't been able to forget this, and keep trying to figure it out from different angles. No real luck so far, but here are the proceedings so far:
