Spectral apparitions either scare people, fascinate people, or fail to capture the imagination altogether. I happen to fall into the middle category, since I've had an interest in ghosts since I was a child. I have never seen one, but I've had a few unexplained experiences, like things throwing themselves at me, things going missing, and that little paranoid sensation that someone's watching me. Come on, how many people haven't had that feeling? I blame ghosts, others blame the stalkers peering in their bedroom window.

Here I will do my utmost to compile a selection of the best ghost stories; either ones that people have told me, or from various literary sources that I've gathered over time. I'll also do my best not to include too many similar stories, because let's face it, every haunted house seems to have a grey/white lady walking it's halls, and every inn over 200 years old has highway men! So only the scariest or most thought provoking will make it here.
