The game is a variant of Windows Minesweeper.

When the game starts, your triangle is at one end of a rectangular field. The objective of the game is to open a path to the other end of the field in the shortest possible time. You do that by moving your triangle from square to square (more or less in the forward direction). You can only move to a square adjacent to the one you are on now. When you step on any square, it becomes open (it's shown in blue, while unopened squares are shown in gray).

Some squares are mined. If you step on a mined square, you lose. A number of triangles appear on open squares, and they tell you how many mined squares are adjacent to it. Open a few squares, and you can deduce where the nearby mines are and navigate your way around them. If any of the squares you open have no mines adjacent to it, all the squares around it are also opened immediately. And of course, no triangles would show on it.

You can mark a square you're sure is a mine. Marked squares are shown in red and you can't move onto them unless you unmark them.

Sometimes it won't be possible to deduce a way forward. Then, you can blast a square. When you do that, it is opened without stepping on it. If it was a mine, it is defused, and the numbers of triangles on squares around it updated. If it's not a mine, it's just opened. Doing this carries a hefty 50 second time penalty, so don't do it unless it's absolutely necessary.

Controls

The arrow keys or combinations of arrow keys to move around. To mark (or unmark) a square, press shift + the combination of arrow keys you'd press to step on that square. To blast a square, press control instead of shift. The game pauses when you click outside its window. It resumes when you click inside it. The game is paused when it starts.

You need to have Java Runtime Environment (JRE) version 1.4 or better for the game to work.
