What to expect from an Advanced Placement United States History Class.
If you are planning on taking APUSH sometime in the future plan on a lot of work. The APUSH (Advanced Placement United States History) class covers the most content of all the AP classes, So be prepared for a lot of reading.

Most APUSH classes read out of a textbook.  In my APUSH class we had a system of notecards for the textbooks. In this system there would be a notecard for each main event in the chapter. As an average there is about 10-20 events in a chapter. By having these notecards it allows you to refer back to content and refreshes your memory on the certain topic. Having a form of notes in an APUSH class is essential for success.

One of the most useful things I found about the notecard system would be when I was preparing for the AP test or my class final, I could always go over some of the content I learned in the begining of the chapter and refresh my memory. After every unit in our textbook we would have a test. A unit is usually 4-5 chapters. In the particular textbook my class read, there was 10 units.

The Textbook reading is what your teacher will test you on, so take good notes. Another part of the AP class is learning the DBQ. To find out about this go
here. The main purpose of an APUSH class is to get you ready for the AP test in May. Your teacher will use other ways to help you get all that content. There will be many helpful in class lectures and notes handouts. There are many ways your teacher will use to prepare you, such as projects, papers, essays etc. It all depends on the teacher.
