Resort Escape >> Island fun in the sun! =D >> STPM

26th February 2003 (Wednesday)

You might think this is a bit too much, but right now, I'm listening to a Chinese song, surfing a web site written in Malay, and typing this in English! What a linguistic overload! Anyways, it looks like I've been enjoying myself to the max these last few days. Last Saturday I went to watch the sports day at my sis's school with a bunch of friends. I tell you, the cheerleading was amazing! No wonder students from other schools in town came to watch!

And then on Sunday, I went to an island resort with another bunch of friends. We kayaked, snorkeled and swam the whole day! I really enjoyed the kayaking partly because it was something I haven't tried, and partly because whenever my friends and I paddle close by, we'd splash water at each other >:) One friend of mine came up behind us and I got soaked. It was all right, I put a good handful of sand down his shirt when we got back to the shore ;) I didn't enjoy the snorkeling though, because visibility was very low. Plus, the sea was very choppy and the snorkeling equipment faulty. Inhaling sea water was not a nice experience :P We also visited the giant clam rehabilitation centre on the island, where we picked up star fish from the open tanks and prodded sea cucumbers, much to the guide's horror :P I didn't dare touch the star fish, I've seen too many documentaries of them in action. They might look like decorations, but they're really living creatures.

The best part of the day was when one of the guys flopped onto the beach and started piling sand onto his chest. We were yelling things like: "What's wrong with you?? You really want to be a woman ah??" and proceeded to help him pile more sand onto his shirt. It was so funny because he started feeling himself, but refused to have his picture taken in the end. He bulldozed his own sandy creation when we wanted to take a photo :(

Anywayz, it's dinner time, have to go, see you next time :)
