Look out! Alicia's Driving! >> Chinese New Year :) >> Valentine's Day

4th of February 2003 (Tuesday)

It's the fourth day of Chinese New Year, and it really feels like any other normal school holiday. It's so boring! :P The past few days have been a bit better.

Last Thursday, I worked from 8:30am in the morning to 11:30pm at night because it was night market day (Or night...Whatever). Since I had to be at my aunt's shop the whole time, I didn't get a chance to explore the night market :( I did however, roamed about the night market in the evening, when most of the stalls have been set up.

My cousin and I bought some ABC, an icy cold dessert with all sorts of sweet fruits and beans, and some spicy hot lo pek gao (carrot cake). Yum :) You should try that combination, my stomach felt as if it were on fire, but my mouth was icy cold from the ABC. They had all sorts of food and items for sale, such as flowers, dried pork slices, biscuits, items you would need to celebrate Chinese New Year. Some politicians took the opportunity to meet the people there and distribute leaflets. I think one politician quite literally wanted to meet the people, because he bumped into my elbow quite hard. I almost gave him the middle finger and called him a bad name behind his back, but it was a good thing his team mate came up to us and said "Gong Xi Fa Cai" from so-and-so political party. I wonder whether I could have ended up in jail because of that :P

First day of Chinese New Year was okay, but not as festive as the year before. We had an open house of some sorts and relatives came over. Second day was very quiet, sigh. I did drive my mom's car on my own for the very first time :) I had to send my sis to the cinema, and boy, was it a thrilling ride! You could say I was quite reckless because I kept overtaking people and switching lanes. Oh, didn't follow the speed limit either. Bad bad bad. At least I didn't horn other people like the other time I drove. I actually snarled: "BASTARD!" at somebody who was sleeping when the traffic light turned green, much to my mom's horror, hehe. The next morning's drive was a lot better and safer. My sis had to go to school for some function at 8am, and she only shook me awake at 8am. This time, I was a good and obedient road user. 0:)

Oh, dinner time! Will update some other time. Cheers!
