Mounted on his SnowRunner's back, Kinem went out into the blizzard once more leaving Caolin inside to tend to his dragon egg and practice the SnowRunner commands, not that Caolin needed practice. The bard seemed to pick things up with unnatural ease, especially the whistles and clicks it took to control the well trained mounts. Dressed in heavy clothes, a scarf covering enough of his face to save him from frost bite and the thick goggles to keep the snow out of his eyes, Kinem moved further out. Today was his turn to hunt, and it was about time too, Caolin didn't have much skill at the sport, not out in the frigid blizzard. His mount whistled happily and Kinem leaned forward to peer through the snow. In the near distance he spotted one of those strange cattle-like beasts that sulk around in heavy blizzard for the protection they give. Smoothly he drew the enchanted blade from it's sheath and lightly launched himself from the back of the SnowRunner. Instantly the beast paused, waiting for its rider's return to its back. However, as Kinem swung the blade in a killing strike at the beast, a strange sound engulfed him and he was... Gone? What on Aesthrae had happened? + - + - + Despite his uncaring air formed in the decision to leave once his egg had hatched, he was rather worried about Kinem. Sadly, there was nothing left to do but wait, and go hunting once he ran out of reserves. + - + - + "Where on Aesthrae am I?" He questioned to the air around him, and was surprised to get a response. "Most likely not on Aesthrae." The masculine voice commented and Kinem twisted slightly to stare at the Hyena furry. "Err...then where am I?" "Magic Isle," was the furry's simple reply. "Why don't you come up to the mountain, we've got a clutch hardening that's in need of candidates." Kinem blinked. Well if that wasn't the best timing he'd ever had, despite the bad time it'd happend at. "Clutch of what?" "E'kaanaath dragons." The stranger explained as he lead them into the mountain. "Phoenix dragons." He added helpfully. "Dragon's hmm? All right." Kinem smiled to himself, he had always wanted a dragon of his own but he had other more important things to do. However, being trapped at a dragon hatching made it kind of hard to refuse. Once inside a young boy was appointed to show him around the mountain, and Kinem happily followed. It was all rather interesting, depsite being stuffy in his warm winter clothing. But that was easily rememdied by shedding the offending articles into the room he'd been allowed to bunk in until the hatching. When finally he was allowed to rest the ice demon flopped onto the bed and sighed. It was nice having somewhere comfortable to sleep, but he wondered if Caolin was all right alone. Well, he should be, he'd survived quite some time without him, a few extra days wouldn't hurt. |
