That day as the sun began to rise through the foggy clouds Chamber's foster parents took Chamber and the ever-growing Amarith. Chamber and Amarith were both very excited to be returning to the ocean, however, her foster parents were not.
When they got there Chamber picked up the small Wyrm and ran as fast as she could down to the waterfront. She was happy for the first time in over a month and her being happy made Amarith beam with pride. He slithered along next to her and occasionally nudged her leg. He smiled as the ocean waves washed along the beach, reaching for himself and Chamber.
*Will we try today? Try and escape into the ocean? I'll do whatever I can to help you.* The brave wyrm held his head up and gazed at the young girl. Who sat down in the water and held him close.
"Yes...We can try today." She gently hugged her bishen then stepped into the water, though fully clothed. She wore her usual dull gray long sleeved shirt and dull gray pants, with a large jacket over that, the jacket had been given to her by a friend a long time ago, but now she could barely remember why. She relaxed and smiled as the small wyrm swam into the water, resembling a small blue sea snake.
*This is the first time I've been in an....ocean?* He cooed softly. *I like it!* He exclaimed happily. Chamber smiled and swam over and stroked his head.
"Yes this is the ocean. No you've never swam in it."
She giggled and pats his head again. She let herself relax; floating on her back for the ocean was calm for now. She continued floating or swimming with Amarith as he found sea shells and happily retrieved them and brought them up for her. They had only gone out far enough that Chamber, when she chose, could stand and touch the bottom.
Amarith saw something gleam farther out into the water. He tilted his small head and flicked his tail to make him move faster across the waters surface. When he was floating just above the object he realized how deep it was. With a deep breath he dove under and moved towards the object. As he reached it he heard a frightened noise and looked up as he grabbed it.
A wave had knocked Chamber under and farther out too. The waves had been growing as the dreary clouds above had began to darken and the winds started to shift and groan. Quickly Amarith began to swim to her, but being so small he wasn't very fast.
Another wave knocked the frightened Chamber underwater. Chamber now could only remember how this had happened before, how the angry black waters had pummeled her and stole her so far away from her beloved home. Suddenly a strong current caught Chamber and she was dragged deeper despite her trying her hardest to swim.
Amarith was still quite a ways a way, and was terrified at the thought of not being able to save her. Then suddenly something happened. He felt himself growing and becoming stronger, not to mention. He could breathe underwater! He was shocked and thankful at the same time. With a burst of speed he swam to his bondmate wrapping his tail around her and pulling her to the surface. She was unconscious from swallowing so much water...But she was alive.
It felt like he'd been swimming for forever and for a long time he heard Chamber's foster parents shouting. The voices had only made him swim faster and now he was sitting at the edge of a luscious jungle. He curled up and looked down at the wet child.
*Chamber? Chamber are you all right?* He shook her gently and tilted his head chirping to her. She coughed up a bit of water then her eyes fluttered open slightly. She peered at the dragon with a confused look before her eyes open wide and she jolts away.
"Amarith?!" She stared at him as if unsure to believe it was he, though deep down it was undeniable. "Oh Amarith, you've grown up!" She wraps her arms around the neck of the shrape.
*I have, haven't I?* He smiles and nudges his dear friend. *But I can't help wondering where we are. This isn't home. I can tell.* Chamber nodded slowly.
"Its not..." She held onto Amarith and whimpered piteously. "Maybe we can find a house... Where someone can tell us where we are."
*And give you dry clothes.* With that they set off into the forest. Amarith stays close to Chamber keeping a close eye out for any sign of other humans, or other intelligent creatures for that matter.
* * *
Days went by quickly as did the nights and it was almost a week that the two spent in the forest. Amarith was starting to doubt he'd find any people. But then one night, while Chamber was sleeping, Amarith heard a soft noise; the sound of a creature stepping lightly through the under brush.
His head flew up to gaze into the eyes of a green terrain female. She jumps slightly surprised by his reaction. He raised his head to even out with the female's head.
*Who are you? ... What are you?* He tilted his head to one side and stared at her. The green seemed to want to laugh.
*My name is Rhianna and I'm a green terrain bishen. Didn't you know? You're one too.*
*I don't look anything like you.* He said, though he obviously believed her to a point. With a pause he asks, *Can you tell me where I am?*
*Thats because you are a Marine, and I'm a Terrain. And you're in a forest within the Bishen Realm. I thought you'd be coming for your Shantel. Do you know what that is at least?* Amarith shook his head slightly and she continued. *Its when you get your magical item and become a full Bishen. I believe you are only a Shrape right now...Or you'd know more about your own species.* Amarith nodded.
*Thank you. I will travel to this Shantel. Could you point me in the direction?* Rhianna smiled and motioned towards where the Shantel would be held and vanished into the trees. With an odd look Amarith turned back and nuzzled Chamber slightly.
*Chamber, Chamber, wake up. I've found out where to go.* Chamber yawned and let herself be helped up by Amarith. He nuzzled her and began to lead her in the direction of the Shantel, his mind whirling with thoughts. He'd never seen his family before, would they be there? Many a more question fluttered through his head but he remained in silence, slithering along side his companion.
