Abbiamo detto che Kadomatsu 門松 (Cancello di pino) accoglie i kami..ma chi sono?
I Shichifukujin (Shichi 七 = 7, Fuku 福 = Fortuna, Jin 神 = Dio / Kami ) sono un gruppo di divinita'. Secondo la tradizione giapponese, viaggiano insieme sulla loro nave piena di tesori (宝船) e visitano gli umani a Capodanno per dispensare la felicita'! Ai bambini viene detto di mettere una foto di questa nave (o di Baku, il mangiatore di incubo) sotto i cuscini la sera del primo gennaio.
Loro sono: Hotei dio della fortuna / Jurōjin dio della lunga vita / Fukurokuju dio della felicit�, ricchezza e longevit� / Bishamonten dio dei guerrieri / Benzaiten dea della conoscenza, delle arti e della musica / Daikoku dio della ricchezza e commercio / Ebisu dio dei pescatori e mercanti.

七福神（しちふくじん）とは、福をもたらすとして日本で信仰されている七柱の神である。
恵比寿: 漁業の神である。- 大黒天: 財福を司る神となった。- 毘沙門天: 戦いの神であったが、- 弁才天（弁財天）: 音楽・弁才・財福・知恵の徳のある天女となり選ばれた。- 福禄寿: 長寿と福禄をもたらす。- 寿老人: 道教の神で南極星の化身の南極老人。日本の七福神の一人としては白鬚明神とされることもある。- 布袋: その太っておおらかな風貌が好まれ、手にした袋から財を出し与えてくれる。

The Shichifukujin (Shichi 七 = Seven, Fuku 福 = Luck, Jin 神 = God / Deity / Kami) 七福神 are group of deities. In Japanese tradition, they travel together on their treasure ship (Takarabune 宝船) and visit human ports on New Year�s Eve to dispense happiness to believers. Children are told to place a picture of this ship (or of Baku, the nightmare eater) under their pillows on the evening of January first.
Ebisu (恵比寿) god of prosperity , Fishing, and wealth in business / Daikokuten (大黒天) god of commerce and prosperity / Bishamonten (毘沙門天) He is the god of fortune in war and battles / Benzaiten (弁才天 or 弁財天) goddess of talent, beauty and music / Fukurokuju (福禄寿) god of wisdom, luck, longevity, wealth and happiness / Jurōjin (寿老人) god of the elderly and longevity / Hotei (布袋) : God of fortune, guardian of the children also the god of popularity.
