Laces and patterns belonging to Jacinta Pondereux

Born in Guadalajara, she married Mr. Mulero, a land owner of large properties between Cabanillas del Campo and Marchamalo. She soon became a widow and during the Spanish Civil War she flew with her son to a village in Cuenca, as her house was occupied by soldiers. Once the war finished, she returned to her large house, in the center of Guadalajara, where the neighbors still remember her making bobbin lace.

Her house has been recently emptied and demolished. It contained many old labor tools, old pieces of furniture, sheets... And also, a great quantity of patterns Jacinta used for making bobbin lace, and that her grandson has so friendly given to Espe (a member of our workshop "Mi pequeño taller").

As you can see, these old used patterns have little in common with today's computer made patterns. These are drawn by hand, on a hard cardboard, sometimes painted in red, others in orange, and others just in the original gray color of the cardboard, and it is a real delight to see and analize them.

(Patterns will be shown soon. Check again in a few weeks please).
