Vintage wing collars
A selection of images of vintage stand and wing collars.  The styles illustrated mostly date from the 1920s and 1930s and show the variety of heights, wing shapes and configurations available.  This type of collar began to fall out of use for day wear, except for very formal occasions, during this period, but remains correct for evening wear.  The majority of collars on this page are 2" tall, which is high by modern standards.  However wing collars from the period 1900-1939 could be up to 2 3/4" tall, presenting a challenge to those with short necks!
