Valentine |
When first I saw you at a shy meeting for two, You didn't know me and I didn't know you. Yellow and red roses -- what a sweet surprise! You wore a brown suit and had dreamy blue eyes. Refreshingly shy, you held out a trembling hand. I hugged you quickly as if it were all planned. Then followed dinner, a nerve-wracking affair. Two seniors on a date; what an unusual pair. Only two years apart, we were both past fifty. We searched for love -- wouldn't that be nifty? Some think us silly, still we go our own way. More in love than ever, it grows day by day. Take my hand in your's for my love is ever true, It's written in my heart that you can feel it, too. I love you deeply, Gary, for you're a part of me. All has come together and it's your's I wish to be. All my love, Precious Man, Catherine St. Valentine's Day 2003 |
