The Home

This fully furnished “Century” home (built in 1885) welcomes you with its owner / architect designed addition (2004) and luxurious interior on one of the quietest streets in the historic section of Orangeville.  The house offers one floor living.

Inside the 2004 addition, the living room has south facing floor to ceiling windows that fill the vaulted living space with light and offers a view of the large, private, fenced-in garden. The new master bedroom is separated from the living room by a double sided fireplace and a partial wall. It provides direct access through French doors to a covered patio with a secluded cedar hot tub. The double-sided gas fireplace provides warmth and atmosphere to both the living room and the bedroom for those cozy white wintery evenings. The hot tub is a great spot for relaxing with friends and family, watching the birds come to their feeder.

The master bedroom with a queen sized Swedish foam bed, has an adjacent dressing room and a spa-like walk-in shower in the bathroom. The upstairs guest bedroom under the eave of the Century house has a queen sized bed, a private bath, and offers the view of a huge evergreen outside the window and.

Except for the entrance hall, the dressing room and the bathroom (all covered with non-skid tile), the new section of our home has wall-to-wall carpeting.

The downstairs of the Century section contains the kitchen and dining space with authentic pine floors, an exposed brick wall and stairs leading to the guest bedroom and bath. The kitchen is equipped with a full-size range, refrigerator, microwave, and everything you need to make simple or gourmet meals, including spices. The dining area includes a dining table that seats four, a 17" TV with built-in VCR, and a broadband computer connection (We also use this space as a study and you will find bookcases full of books on various subjects.).

As part of the entrance hall you will find a washer/dryer, access to the utility basement and a powder room. Everything is provided to make your stay in our home perfect!

Extras include, laundry area, 2 televisions with full cable service, a hot tub in a quiet and private garden, forced air heating with humidifier, driveway cleaned of snow, cleaning every 2 weeks.

Home includes Phone, Cable TV, VCR, DVD, Stereo, CD Player, Full Kitchen, Microwave, Dishwasher, Refrigerator, Fully equipped kitchen with cooking Utensils and china provided, Linens provided, Washer & Dryer, Private Hot Tub.

The People

Both of us are retired University professors. My husband’s field was Management, and he is currently working on a book. My field was Architecture and Urban Planning and I am doing genealogy research. We have lived for 20 years in Montserrat and have had this home in Orangeville since 2002.

My daughter lives a few streets away and will gladly assist with all information about the area and our house. Our neighbor takes care of clearing the driveway when there is snow.
