Vorontsov Palace and Rotunda

---------

The other end of the boulevard opens to the building which belonged to the mayor who have done a lot for Odessa back in XIX century Vorontsov. In front of this building there is the famous rotunda, where Pushkinliked to stand looking at the sea, writing his poems and waiting for Voronstov'swife (he was in love with her). In front of the rotunda, beside Vorontsov'shouse there is a picturesque corner with 2 lions at the sides of the well (from which only architecture remained for now of course), a place very popular for taking photos. Next to it there is a street which goes down to the commercial port and it is a level deeper on the line of Vorontsov'shouse (there are several streets like this round the sea coast line on the side of the ports in Odessa). But you can walk over it using the hanging bridge (looking like solid actually, but if there is many people walking and you stand in the middle quietly, you can feel it staggering slightly) and that bridge is called Mother's-in-Law bridge. The story tells that it was build by Vorontsovto the house of his future wife's mother (this is a very beautiful palace on the other side of the down street, which is now bought by someone and get beautifully repaired and painted) to please her because she was from a very rich family and very beautiful, so there were many other pretenders than him.
