Round the corner, on one side of Preobrazhenska street there is a park called Sobornaplace (or simple Soborka). It translates as "Cathedral place", because there was a cathedral standing on this place before Revolution. In Soviet times there was just a beautiful fountain cup on its place, and another fountain right beside it. There was a carrousel park for children also. In the other end of the park there is a monument beside which, on the benches under the sheds for many years people playing check gather. The cathedral was blew up by Soviet government, and now they try to reconstruct this cathedral from zero according to the old drawings. They have already erected the bell tower with clock and on the week-ends it plays a beautiful melody every hour for half-an-hour with all its bells. | Destroyed Cathedral |
