West Indies are back playing the format they love the most and even though they are without some of their vintage stars of the format, they do appear to be a formidable unit, at least in the shortest format of the game. They have started their limited-overs series against Bangladesh with a bang and would want to inflict more misery upon the tourists.
They are already leading the T20I series and would be keen to add another one to their cap. Bangladesh, on the other hand, will not only want to win the upcoming match and gain some momentum, they would also want to get their combination right for the upcoming World T20 that isn't too far.
The third match of the T20I series between West Indies and Bangladesh is set to be played on 7th July 2022 at Providence Stadium, Georgetown, Guyana.
With Kieron Pollard no longer available, West Indies not only needed a strong middle-order player but also a solid captain. As apparent from this ongoing series against Bangladesh, they seem to have covered all their bases with the youngsters and experienced pros firing alike.
Although West Indies didn't end up winning the first one as rain played spoilsport, they would be pretty happy with the performance they managed to put out. They were well in business with Bangladesh 8 down for 105 batting first, but the chase never got on as the match was tied. In the second match though, West Indies showed their potench and romped past Bangladesh in a fantastic manner.
On paper, West Indies have a side full of T20 stars who all can take the game away from even the best. They are equipped well in both departments of the game and taking on them is not going to be easy. Besides, playing at home in familiar conditions only adds to their advantage. Considering the kind of team they have, all they would need to do is to play as they have been doing. If they are able to do that, getting past them is going to be incredibly difficult.
Brandon King, Kyle Mayers, Shamarh Brooks, Nicholas Pooran, Rovman Powell, Romario Shepherd, Odean Smith, Dominic Drakes, Akeal Hosein, Obed McCoy, Hayden Walsh.
Bangladesh's rise in international cricket was exemplary but they have kind of stalled with no real wins coming in for them in the last few years. They have been glorious in patches but they have lacked consistency big time. One would imagine the shortest format of the game to be their best format, but that hasn't been the case either.
In this series up until now, Bangladesh have been terrible and would want to make a mark before the series gets over. They do have some excellent names in their lineup but none of them have so far managed to step up in the series so far. They have also struggled to cope up with the conditions and adapting quickly is something that they would want to learn going forward.
All in all, Bangladesh do have the ability on paper but they have lacked execution skills big time. They would need to get that right and play to their potential in this upcoming match and if that happens, West Indies will certainly have their work cut out.
Anamul Haque, Liton Das, Shakib Al Hasan, Mahmudullah, Afif Hossain, Nurul Hasan, Mosaddek Hossain, Mahedi Hasan, Shoriful Islam, Mustafizur Rahman, Nasum Ahmed.
This is an important match for both these sides as the fate of the series resides on the result of this match. A win for West Indies will mean a 2-0 win for them whereas a Bangladesh win will level the series. Considering how this tour has panned out, West Indies clearly seem ahead. Also, they have a better-balanced side that is playing at the home turf, making them a much more formidable unit than they actually are. Considering that and the other factors stated above, a bet on West Indies win should be the way to go here.
