Anime Couple of the Month

Each month (or so) we will have a new Anime Couple of the Month, this couple can be anyone, any two anime characters that have a special relationship, some kind of special bond between them, they don't even have to be human, and this can include examples of Samurai Love (explanation coming soon).

Inuyasha and Kagome

The Story:

Kagome is a 15 year old girl who lives in modern day Tokyo.  On her 15th birthday, she is pulled through the Bone-eater's well by a demon and travels back in time to Japan's Sengoku Jidai (or age of warring states) about 500 or so years ago.  It is here that she meets Inu-Yasha, a half-demon who tried to steal a powerful jewel, the Shikon no Tama, in order to become a full demon. However, the priestess who guarded the jewel, Kikyou, used an arrow to trap Inu-Yasha magically for before dying herself from fatal injuries. She had the jewel cremated with her, and now Kagome, who is the re-incarnation of Kikyou, has brought the jewel back to the Sengoku Jidai 50 years later, and releases Inu-Yasha from the entrapment spell. Not long after this the jewel is shattered, and Inu-Yasha is forced to pair up with Kagome (against his will) in order to collect the shards. Thus the journey begins.

Age: 15 in human years.  Over 50 in demon years

Species/Race: Hanyou, meaning that he is half human and half demon (father was a demon and Mother was a human)

Personality:  He uses foul language quite a bit, he's rude, arrogant, and quick tempered.  He also can be thoughtful and emotional even though he almost never shows it to others.  He also has many inner conflicts such as not knowing how to express his feelings for Kagome.

Weaknesses:  Because he's a Hanyou, he becomes full human on the night of a new moon.  When this happens, he loses all of his demon characteristics, his hair turns black, his eyes turn purple, his nose and ears are human, and he has no fangs or claws. He also loses his super-human strength and capabilities, and can no longer get Tetsusaiga to transform. When morning comes though, he changes back to a Hanyou.

Enemies: He has many enimies, but the main ones are Sesshoumaru, his half brother, and Naraku.  There is also a wolf demon named Kouga.  Kouga is more like a friendly rival because he really likes Kagome and does whatever she says.  Inuyasha becomes very protective and possesive of Kagome whenever Kouga come near her.

Love interests:  He obviously likes Kagome but his lingering feelings for his first love, Kikyo, has put a huge strain on Kagome and Inuyasha's relationship.

Age: 15

D.O.B:  July 3rd, 1981

Species/Race:  Human, Miko, meaning that she has special powers such as purifying the Shikon no Tama.

Personality:  She is practically the exact opposite of Inuyasha.  She's very kind hearted, chooses peace over violence, very clever, fends for herself pretty well, cheerful, helping, and shows tons of emotion.  This vibrint sunny flower also has a bad side though. She can also get angry and yell alot, and when she's mad she becomes downright scary, when this happens even Inuyasha is afraid of her!

Weapons:  She uses a bow and arrow, and she has mystical powers, and she can see the shikon shards.

Weaknesses:  Since Kagome is a human, she can be easily injured during one of the many battles in the series.

Enemies:  She has the same enemies as everyone else (Naraku, Sesshoumaru, etc.) EXCEPT for Kouga, for some strange reason she sort of likes him, but not in that way.

Love interests: First and foremost there's Inu-Yasha, he's the only one that she is interested in unless she's getting even with him. Their are a few people who like her though such as Kouga, and a guy from her own time, Houjo, who is very naive and can't seem to take hints.
