FRONTAL ASSAULT COMPILATION REVIEW This compilation takes five songs from the album Screamin' N' Bleedin' and five songs from the album Frontal Assault although performance credits are given only to the 1986-7 lineup. From Frontal Assault we are given "Dream World," "She Don't Lie," "Frontal Assault," "Something Wrong," and "Straight From Hell" and from Screamin' N' Bleedin', we are given "Evil Games," "Waltz The Night," "Goodbye," "Fatal Kiss," and "Whose To Blame." The first half, representing the second Killerwatt release, is well chosen, taking five very excellent songs from album #3, but the second half gets a bit on the boring side with two Angel Witch classics starting it off and then including two of the band's weaker songs "Goodbye" and "Fatal Kiss". I personally would have chosen "Child Of The Night" and "Reawakening" and shifted the track order a bit, but it doesn't really bother me since I own both original LPs anyway. Of note is that the mix of "Waltz The Night" here has a fade-out ending whereas the original LP and the latest incarnation of this compilation has the abrupt sharp door-slamming ending. I kind of prefer the fade-out ending myself since the original way seemed much too abrupt. Another note - this album used to be really easy to find in New York City in the early '90s and now it's really hard to find. Completists on CD are encouraged to get this because the new version of this compilation does not have "Whose To Blame" nor "Evil Games". RATING: 8.5
