The Invasion: Part One
|
(This is the first part of
an ongoing series I have started within Angel. Some of the characters
have been carried through from the first Angel Fan-Fic I wrote, Pasts
Present. ) Rating- Well it will deal with some pretty adult issues. So erm I dunno about a 15 cert. (I think.) The room was dark and filled with the light breathing of a sleeping Cordelia. Dennis Just watched her. He did that a lot. He was dead there wasnt really much else he could do. Still . he had only ever felt this once before and his Mum had killed him before he had a chance to explore it. Now it was to late. So he just sat at the end of the bed and watched her sleep. Hoping she was having a nice dream. Angel ran down the alley after the creature. For something so large it was moving with such speed he was having trouble keeping up. Yet Angel had one advantage and it should be arriving about now. Just as the thought entered his head Angel saw Wesley jump in front of the demon. Battle axe ready to use. The demon made a swipe for Wesley who dodged the blow and delivered one himself. The thing screamed as the axe sunk into its skin the pain shooting through its body. As it sunk into blackness it saw Wesley looking at it almost sadly. Then it felt nothing. The sun rose bringing with it safety, warmth and protection from the shadows that dogged the night. Cordelia walked down the streets unaware that she was being followed. She could feel the suns warmth on her face. It was at times like these she felt sorry for Angel he would never get to feel how good it felt. Slowly the light disappeared and was replaced with an image of a woman screaming in pain and something pushing its way inside her. As the pain left Cordelia stood up and realised that a group of people had assembled around her. Looking at them she felt shame rise, Damn allergies she laughed before running off. The creature continued following her. Angel? Wesley? Zack? Hello? Is.. Wesley walking in looking somewhat apprehensive cut off Cordelia. Cordelia knew this look. This was trouble. BIG trouble. What? was all she could ask. The last time this look was on his face Wesley had to tell Angel he was about to die. Zack is missing. Cordelia felt the butterflies start to party in her stomach. She didnt like this. I have no idea where he is. There are no clues yet. Nothing Wesleys eyes filed with water. As Cordelia walked towards him and hugged him tightly. Ever since her near death experience a couple of months ago Cordelia had become much more sympathetic to EVERYONE. She had let a homeless person share her apartment with her for a week. The person hadnt bathed for three months, yet Cordelia didnt mind that much. Now Wesleys son had gone missing. Something was wrong. I know it doesnt sound helpful but he will turn up. I promise. The words felt fake even as the left her mouth. Dennis roared as the stranger moved through the house. No sound came out. The door banged and the window opened and closed and that was it. Nothing else. The stranger wasnt even scared. He just laughed and taunted Dennis. Is that it Dennis? Was all he kept saying. Somehow he knew Dennis by name. After the apartment had been ransacked the stranger left, after turning and looking right where Dennis was and whispering, I am going to come back and I am going to get her Dennis. I want you to know that. She will be mine and you will have to watch me destroy her. With that the stranger orbed out. Dennis didnt know ghosts could feel fear, but now it was all he could feel. His thoughts were interrupted by Cordelia screaming, DENNIS!!!! GET YOUR UNDEAD ASS OUT HERE RIGHT NOW!!!! He knew she couldnt see him. Yet he knew somehow she could feel him. He went close to her and told her everything. She didnt hear a word. His plea for her to leave fell on silent ears. He felt tears run down his cheeks as the stranger orbed back in. He felt anger as the stranger threw a screaming Cordelia against a wall. And he wept like never before as the stranger beat her black and blue, but the stranger didnt stop. He laughed out loud as he took out a knife and cut open a hysterical and struggling Cordelias top. He started to undo his pants. Shouting out loud Do you see what I can do Dennis? DO YOU SEE?!? Dennis felt the sheer anger and rage and fear and pain and love rise. He felt all these feeling rush out of him towards the stranger. Who was now removing weeping Cordelias underwear. Dennis ran to Cordelia and put his hand in hers like he had so many times when she had been a sleep. She never felt him and he couldnt feel her. But this time something felt different. Dennis felt his hand go into Cordelias. Suddenly he was in her body. Seeing through her eyes. Then with both their might they threw him off her. Looking at the stranger Cordelia and Dennis yelled GET THE FUCK OUT! The stranger laughed. He stopped laughing when Cordelia rammed the remainders of a broken glass into his neck. The body fell to the floor. Cordelia passed out and Dennis was thrown out of her body. All three people lay on the floor. Two dead and one covered in tears and vomit. No one moved. The sun rose bringing with it safety, warmth and protection from the shadows that dogged the night. Except this morning it failed to scare away the shadows. The shadows filled Cordelias apartment. She lay still. She hadnt moved in 8 hours. The blood had dried. The tears had stopped three hours ago. Yet Cordelia didnt move. Her trousers had been ripped off her and lay against a wall. Her top not far from it. Her bra by her side. It had been ripped off also. He underwear she had pulled back up. Or was that Dennis? She couldnt tell. She had been invaded. The sun didnt fail to take the shadows from her apartment. They had failed to take them from her mind. She lay numb on the floor. Fear growing inside her. © 2000 Moloch Feedback- Totally!
