Julie Hamilton, the latest rock-act to come from down-under, are set todominate the musical charts throughout the world.

After extensive touringaround America, the band's album sold 50, 000 copies on the day of release, with the first single "Fallen Angels" opening at number 10, sitting alongside the likes of Madonna and Brittney Spears.

It is now number one in the pop-charts and has been for 4 weeks.

"Pure 21st century rock" is how Tool frontman Maynard James Keenan described it. "I was at their New York show, and the whole thing was as pure as rock can get, but with something fresh and new. It's hard to pigeon-hole their music because there's nothing quite like it. It's new, exciting stuff."

Other rockstars including No Doubt's Gwen Stefani, Lenny Kravitz and garbage's Shirley Manson were spotted at various shows. "I'd heard of them before, and thought I'd check them out, and they didn't disappoint - Julie Hamilton blew me away!" raves Stefani. "It really was an awesome experience. It's a new kind of rocknroll."

More recently was Madonna, who was back-stage during the band's Seattle show, in talks of signing them up to her Maverick record label.

"They were very flattered but said they'd pass." stated the pop-queen. "Which surprised me, because they're so young and new to the game.  I think they're very talented and destined for great things."

Julie Hamilton's self-titled album is available in all good music stores.
