Buffy never hated Jenny for what happened to Angel...
Wouldn't you know, Angelus thought, that her end, will be another's beginning. From his hiding place amongst the trees he spotted his favourite Slayer currently doing her nightly patrol throught the graveyard. He watched while she, one by one, staked the three rookie vampires who were out for what appeared to them as an easy meal. He turned away with a menacing smile to himself and pictured the coming days, or perhaps weeks. Unlike many of the others, Angelus knew not to underestimate her, but when the time came, the death of the Slayer rumoured to be the most powerful yet, would bring chaos to the world. Would bring about the 'life' of another. In more ways than one... *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* He's around here somewhere, Buffy Summers thought to herself, while ridding the world of yet more vampires. For the past few nights during patrol she could feel his presence, could tell he was watching her. Her thoughts were distracting her, she realized, when the last vamp got in a punch that knocked her slightly off balance. I've had enough of this, she thought, annoyed, and quickly shoved her stake through the vampire's heart. Even before the vamp was dust she was headed toward the library. She needed to speak with Giles. She wanted to know why her ex-honey was hanging around and not attempting to kill her. *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* When she reached the library, she realized that everyone was already assembled for some obscure reason, considering it was 2am. Obscure? Oh, man, Buffy, you've been hangin' around with Giles way too much. "Hey, guys." she said to everyone, "what's with the midnight meeting?" They were all just sitting there, Giles and Miss Calender, Willow and Oz, Xander and Cordelia, each looking deep in thought. Which, in Cordelia's case, was making her Spider Sense go on full alert. "Oh...uh...Buffy, yes, mmm, what are you doing here?" Giles stuttered rather nervously. "Hey, Buff." "Uh, hi Buffy." "Oh, hey Buffy." "Hello, Buffy." "What happened to your hair?" asked Cordelia in horror. She knew that reaction. It was usually matched up with some ancient prophesy that Giles was reluctant to clue her into because the end result was usually her death. Oh, well, she'd dealt with her prophesised death on more than one occasion and so far she'd only died once. Not bad if I do say so myself, she thought. "Okay, guys, what big evil is gonna come to town and how do I kill it?" she stated unconcerned. "Uh, Buffy, this one's kinda different," this from a very agitated Wilow. "Willow is quite correct, Buffy, but as usual, your instincts are rather on the mark. I received a call from the Council earlier this evening. It has been brought to their attention a prophesy from surprisingly not so long ago, maybe half a millenia..." "Hey, Giles, my man, we get that it's only kinda old, now back to the story." Hurried Xander. "What? Oh, yes of course." Giles continued. "Well around five hundred years ago, a witch was turned into a vampire by the Master, and like Drusilla, she could see certain things. She foretold the coming of the Ally, the one who represented the ultimate good, but would then become the ultimate evil, in the time when the divided Slayer was created. "From love, will rise the ultimate evil, Once being the ultimate good. When the Slayer is the divided, Chaos will reign upon th world. In the time will come the Chosen Two, Born of love and hat, good and evil, Only if those who sired them are Defeated by what created them, Will the destruction then be no more. In this time, the world's greatest evil, Will once again be the Ally, the one's Who represent the greatest good." "Wow, for a witchy-vamp, she sure could run off at the mouth." Buffy stated. "Buffy, I really think you should let Rupert continue." Ms. Calender insisted quietly. Buffy belatedly took a seat and focused on the topic at hand. "Okay, but I realy don't get the point of the story." She said, almost pouting. "Buffy, the Council believes that you and Kendra are the Slayer divided. Slayers are meant to be a singular soul. When one dies, another is not only called, there is a transference of power, of experience." Giles tried to explain. "Oh, okay, so that means that the evil thing that she talks about could be about to happen or something. Well, what does the rest of it mean?" Buffy questioned. Xander cut in, "Well, that's their whole problem, Buff, they have no idea." "Well, in all due respect, Xander, the prophesy was only now brought to their attention and..." Giles was cut off by Buffy's sarcastic, "Explain to me why exactly it is that a prophesy is unearthed or just forgotten about until it's time. Someone realy should take note of these things..." she broke off at Giles' glare. "To continue, we really are quite unprepared for the coming events, but one thing that I have realized, is that it seems to originate with vampires." Willow's face lit up with understanding. "Oh, I get it!" "Well then, will you please explain it to me?" came Cordelia's confused comment. Willow took over. "Well the part about the sire, 'only of those who sired them/are defeated by what created them,' a vampire is a sire. You know, like Angel is to Spike and Drusilla." she gave Buffy a look that said, 'sorry'. "Well, until we find out what the rest of it means, I guess I'll just have to keep an extra close eye on the Hellmouth and train extra hard. I mean, we've defeated these things before, we can do it again, right?" This comment was met by six pairs of eyes that said exactly the same thing. I hope you're right... The End
