Spike's Falonmiir

Author: Dani Email: [email protected] Rating: R Summary: Spike falls in love...with a Falonmiir? Disclaimer: I don't own any of these characters, except Sera. Who I thought up all by myself, no help from anyone!!!!
Stifling a curse, Angel continued on his way back to Cordelia's. He hadn't found the girl from Cordy's vision. He hadn't even come across anything remotely evil in origin. All in all, it had been a wasted night. He felt like a fight to vent his frustrations. "Too damn quiet." he thought aloud. A sudden thunderous boom and the briefest flashes of light knocked him on his ass and he regretted his previous thoughts Minutes later, he shook his head as if to loose the dancing dots from his vision. Hearing a soft moan and smelling fresh blood, he stood and surveyed the area. Expecting some sort of attack, he was caught off guard when he saw the young woman laying on her side a few feet away. It was her blood he smelled. Rushing to her side, he quickly took notice of her torn clothing and what looked like fresh whip marks. ~ "Are you okay?" Not sure where she was, Sera decided it best not to respond until she took stock of the situation. "I'm Angel...I can help. Take you to a hospital or..." his voice trailed off. "n...no...No Hospital." "Then wh.." "Hide me!" Sera cut into his words. She wasn't sure why, but she sensed that she could trust him. "Hide me, Please?" ~ Angel lifted the girl as gently as he could, but he still saw a flicker of pain roll across her features. Wondering just what the hell was going on, he fairly flew the rest of the way to Cordelia's. "Hide me, hide me. Please!" the sudden sound almost caused him to drop her. "Shush, we're on our way someplace safe!" he tried to comfort her but she had passed out. Busting through a very startled Cordy's door, Angel placed the unconscious girl on the couch. "What the..." Cordy choked out. "Is that the girl? What happened? Were you attacked?" Wesley flew to his side. "Is she alive?" Cordy asked. Both of them looked to Angel for reassurance. But he was already heading to the kitchen for some water. Sending Cordelia for a blanket, he told them what happened. ~ Quite a few moments later the trio was seated at the kitchen table. A silence had descended as soon as Angel had finished his story. Standing, he walked to the doorway and looked at the tiny figure laying on the sofa. Angel had cleaned and dressed her wounds, but wasn't sure if there was anything else he could do to make her comfortable. A gentle hand on his arm caused him to turn back to his companions. "I'm sure she'll be ok." Cordy offered in way of reassurance. "Only time will tell!" he replied. Wesley opened his mouth, a thoughtful look on his face. Only to clamp it shut a second later. "What?" pause. "Wesley...what?" Cordelia tapped her toes, awaiting his reply. "You say she just appeared?" When Angel nodded, Wesley stood and began to pace. Rubbing his chin thoughtfully, he opened his mouth to voice a theory to the girl's origins, when the object of his thoughts called for Angel. As one, they bolted for the living room. ~ Struggling to sit upright, Sera was surprised when two cool hands helped her achieve the position. Dampening the pain the movement caused, she decided it was time for some answers. Opening her eyes, she faced Angel. ~ So startled was he by her eyes, that he never heard her first question. "Well?" "Allo!" "Earth to Angel!!!" Cordy finally broke through his thoughts. "Sorry, what?" Angel glanced away, then back again. Even though her eyes were completely white, he sensed she missed nothing. ~ "Why am I here?" Sera repeated her question. Glancing at the female of the group, she wasn't surprised when all she received was a barely whispered "O!" "Actually we're not sure. Magic or something else of great power." Wesley was the one to answer. "Where did you come from?" Angel inquired. Now we're getting somewhere Sera thought. "Maybe introductions would be in order first." Cordy broke in, deciding that although the girl had no pupils - she didn't seem to be a threat. "I'm Cordelia, Cordy for short. Tweed lover is Wesley and you already know Angel. He brought you here, to my place, when you asked him to hide you." "Sera. My name is Sera. And I thank you for you hospitality." ~ Noticing the look of exhaustion on Sera's face, Angel told her to rest and that they would continue the conversation when she was feeling up to it. ~ Not needing any more encouragement, Sera lay back. Closing her eyes, she quickly dozed off. ~ Moving back into the kitchen, everyone was lost in their own thoughts for a time. "I doubt she's human. No way would her wounds be nearly healed that fast. And her eyes...Well let's just say they give her away." Cordelia was the one to break the silence. Wesley nodded, while Angel frowned. "But if she's not human and she heals quickly. Just what is she afraid of?" "Excellent question." Wesley stated. "But the real question is - what is SHE? "Wesley, research duty! Cordelia, you stay here with Sera!" Angel was moving towards the door. "And just what are you going to be doing, while I'm baby-sitting?" Cordy pouted. "I'm going back to the spot I found her at, to look for anything that might help us figure this out." And the door closed firmly behind him. "Well, I must say, I rather like it when he takes charge like that." She mirked at Wesley. "Perhaps you could take some lessons, mister indecision." The only reply she got was the soft click as the door closed. ~A FEW DAYS LATER~ The trio was gathered again in Cordy's living room, waiting for Sera to wake. "I can't believe she slept for three whole days!" Cordelia griped to no one in particular. "Mind you, if I could sleep away all scars, I'd sleep for three days too!" Angel glanced down with a hint of a grin. Vanity, thy name is Cordy, he thought. ~ Sera heard Cordelia's comment and stretched, effectively letting them know she was awake. "Morning!" she grinned at them each as she glanced around the room. "More like early evening. Just so you know." Cordy replied. "How do you feel?" Sera heard the concern in his voice and turned back to face Angel. "Better. Almost back to my old self." she replied truthfully. Cordelia fidgeted uncomfortably in the silence that followed. Sera took pity on her and asked for a glass of water. "Of course! Immediately! Coming right up!" the girl smiled and made her escape. Angel stood and moved a few feet in the same direction. When he turned to face her again, Sera knew she couldn't delay the inevitable any longer. "About your old self..." Angel began. "Before we have this conversation and I answer all your questions...Can I have a shower, some clean clothes and food? Maybe?" She hadn't noticed the other girl return, so flinched when Cordy answered. "Sure. Come with me. I'll show you where everything is and get you a change of clothes." Cordy never noticed Sera's discomfort. Looking to Angel, she saw him nod and shoo her in Cordy's direction. Standing, Sera stretched, removing all the kinks from her muscles and followed down a hall into the bathroom. Cordelia was already pulling towels out of the cabinet, when she stepped into the room. "There's a robe on the back of the door that you can put on when you get out. Shampoo and et cetera are there." She pointed in their direction. "My room is across the hall. I'll leave a change of clothes on the bed for you." She made to step out of the room, when Sera raised a hand to halt her. "Thanks! For everything!" Sera smiled and was pleased when the girl returned the grin. ~ As Sera showered, Cordelia rejoined the men in the living room. Wesley was pacing again. "I can't believe we found nothing! Not one single piece of evidence about her, where she's from, how she got here. Nothing!" Angel was standing near the window, looking out at the predawn sky. With a resigned sigh, he lowered the shade and turned to face his two friends. "I think we need help on this one. I'd recommend calling the council Wesley. But since you were fired, I don't think they'd be helpful." "But who else could possibly help with this kind of..." realization dawned on Cordy and she quickly shut her mouth. "Giles." Wesley did not sound too happy about it. "We could just go to the PTB and see what they say." Wesley began to babble. "Oh yeah! Their just a fountain of information.Always helpful, never talk in riddles. They'll be more than willing to help!!" Cordy didn't even bother to keep the contempt from her voice. "That's why I'm going to Giles." Angel quietly stated, his tone leaving no room for argument. ~ Stepping into Cordelia's room, Sera felt very refreshed. Her wounds were completely healed and no pain hampered her movements. Looking around at her surroundings, she was again surprised by the simple fact that a female was helping her. Being kind to her. Noticing the clothes on the bed, she moved towards them and began to change. An ankle length black skirt and white silk blouse on, she combed her medium length blue-black hair into a braid and headed for the living room. "Hi. Feel better?" Cordelia asked as Sera came into view. "Much! Thanks!" "Angel's just in the kitchen making you some eggs." "And where's...tweed boy? Sorry, I forgot his name." Sera admitted, turning slightly red as she moved to the nearest chair and sat. "Wesley. He had some arrangements to go make." "Oh!" An uncomfortable silence fell and Sera began to twine her fingers in her skirt. "Maybe we should move into the kitchen, so you can eat." Cordy suggested. Just in time too, as Angel called to say it was ready. ~ Once the women were seated at the table, and a heaping plate had been placed in front of Sera, Angel sat across from the stranger and waited. ~ After she had cleaned the plate of every last crumb, Sera leaned back in her chair and sighed contentedly. Pausing just long enough to gather her thoughts, she began. "My name is Sera Madison. And I'm a Falonmiir!" She paused and looked at each of them to see if they recognized the name. Cordelia looked clueless, but Angel's expression had changed just slightly that she knew he had heard of her kind. She briefly wondered how long it would be before he threw her out before she went on. "By the way you fought to hide your reaction, I can tell you've heard of us Angel." Holding her hand up when he went to respond, she continued. "There aren't many of us left, so we're in hiding. But you should know that I'm only half Falonmiir. That's why I took so long to heal." Realizing that Cordy looked even more confused, she decided to enlighten the poor girl. "The female Falonmirr are notoriously violent. The men are the soft ones. Since my mother was human, I was born with emotion. I feel hurt...love...not just hate. I don't need to destroy everything that isn't like me. The other women don't care about anything! All they feel is the need to destroy. They even kill the men when they reach a certain age. They killed my mother when I was born, and decided that they would rid me of my humanity. I spent one hundred years being tortured. But the laugh is on them. I still feel!" "Your a hundred years old?" Cordy burst out. Smiling bitterly, Sera nodded. "I only hope I look that good at that age. And I mean still human, not vamped!" Cordelia's remark brought a genuine smile to Sera's face. But it quickly faded as she remembered a disturbing fact. "Their going to be looking for me! They probably already are! We need to leave." ~ Trying not to show any emotion, Angel wasn't sure if he should ask what she was doing here. "It'll be fine. Angel will help you." Cordelia's soft comment brought his attention back to the here and now. He glanced back at Sera, and noticed she looked really nauseous. "Yes! We'll help you out. You can stay here until we figure out what to do." Angel offered, but wasn't surprised when she shook her head, "NO! NO! We need to leave now!! Just trust me on this! Not even you'll be safe here once they come! PLEASE!?!!" Hearing something in her voice that worried him, Angel decided to listen. "Cordy, grab some clothes and your toiletries! You're staying at my place 'till we get this straightened out." When he had time to stop and relax, he'd wonder how she knew he was different. ~ Sighing with relief, Sera was glad when she heard the click of the lock sliding into place behind them. Knowing she'd be hunted until she was dead or they were dead, was quite daunting. She would tell Angel everything if he was willing to help. ~ Dropping Cordelia off and making sure to warn Wesley to be extra cautious, they made their way back to the car and began their journey. "First things first. How the hell would they find you? Falonmiir's aren't known for their attention span." Angel ground out through clenched teeth. ~ "I thought your first question would be, how did I know your not human?" Sera waited for him to pull the car onto the highway before continuing. "I told you that there weren't many of us left. Well the only reason there actually are any of us is because of cross breeding. We've mixed with demons and witches and the occasional lamia. The anger and hate remained in most cases, but it also breed a sort of awareness. We can remember things for longer, and hold grudges. I was a defect, of sorts, depending on your point of view." she stopped to wait for Angel to comment. ~ Sitting in silence for a few moments, Angel let her words sink in. This might be a bigger problem than he had originally thought. He was beginning to rethink his decision to go to Giles for help when she interrupted his thoughts. "I understand if you want to send me on my way. I wouldn't want to endanger you or any of your friends. It would probably be for the best. I'd rather die than have any one harmed." "No! I'll help. Buffy and Giles will help us. When we get there we'll need to figure out a plan." He was even more determined to help her if she was willing to sacrifice herself for his own good. Maybe Willow could figure out some sort of spell that would be helpful. ` The rest of the trip was passed in silence. Sera wondered just who this Giles and Buffy were. She wasn't sure what to make of people who would rush to help the underdogs. It had happened before, but never in her experience. Not that she had a lot of experience around humans. Just her mother when she had been a baby. It gave her a feeling of hope. A small ray of light began to shine in her horizon. Settling back in her seat, she watched the scenery go by with a small smile. ~ The journey seemed to rush by in no time at all, and Angel found himself growing nervous at the thought of seeing Buffy again. He hadn't seen her since the time he had been human, for a brief moment. It would definitely be weird seeing her with all these memories of a time she would never know. He glanced over at the passenger seat and noticed Sera was asleep. Pulling the car up to the curb, he turned off the engine and sat in the silence. "Well, well, well. If it ain't Angelus. Been a while mate." Angel moved so quickly, Spike didn't even have a chance to put up much of a fight. "What are you doing here? Haven't you learned your lesson? Buffy will kill you if she knows your here!" Angel was not pleased to see his childe. "Maybe you should introduce me to your little friend before we have this little spat again." Spike was leering at something behind Angel. Turning when he heard the soft scrape of a shoe on pavement, he realized Sera had exited the car and stood off to the side. Spike used Angel's temporary distraction to move away. Just enough to be beyond reach of his sire. Noticing Spike's gaze on Sera, Angel fought the urge to attack and decided that he would just hustle the girl into Giles' , away from him. "Let's go! He's a waste of our time." Angel took Sera's arm and led her away. He wasn't surprised when Spike followed at a discreet distance. But he won't make it into Giles' place. Angel felt a hollow victory at that thought. Knocking loudly, Angel figured Giles would be asleep. It was almost 3:00 am. "Go home Spike!! I don't feel like prowling around all night looking for demons." The door flew open and a very irate Giles poked his head out. Angel didn't even notice what the Englishman had said. But Giles recognized him immediately and ushered them in. "Angel! Come in, come in!" Angel pushed Sera ahead of him and glanced back at Spike before heading through the door. "We need your help Giles." Angel would wait until the ex-librarian was seated before telling him why. "Go in and have a seat. I'll just make myself some tea." Giles paused on his way out of the room. "Would your friend like anything?" "No thank you." ~ Once the older gentleman had returned with his tea and seated himself, introductions were made. "Sera, this is Giles. He's was a Watcher. Giles, this is Sera. She's a..." Angel paused as if he wasn't sure how to proceed. He obviously didn't want to upset the man. "I'm part Falonmiir." Sera saved him the hassle. The Watcher stopped his cup halfway from his lap to his mouth, but seemed to take it in stride. "I thought that being a Watcher was for life, I didn't realize you could quit." Sera was curious about the man. "But they can fire you." At his reply, Sera felt like she had stuck her foot in her mouth and swallowed. But she was saved from stammering a response when the door flew open and the blonde haired fellow from earlier sauntered in. "Miss me?" He seemed to be taunting Angel. "Spike, I thought you had gone home." Giles didn't seem that surprised by the other man being in his home. But Sera could feel Angel tense. There was definitely a history here. "I was on my way when I noticed my old mate drive up. And with another girl too. Perhaps Buffy wasn't the one and only. Found a new playmate have we?" The only thing that stopped Angel from flying across the room was Sera's hand on his arm. "Perhaps you should leave!" Angel was not in the frame of mind for this. "Sorry to disappoint. But I am part of the scooby gang now. Until my head gets fixed anyway. Besides, it's more fun here. And I want to find out who your little friend is." Sera met his gaze and was surprised by the look of pure lust on his face. ~ Angel wanted to put his fist through the wall. Better yet, through Spike's smug face. It wouldn't accomplish anything...But it'd make him feel better. He was about to go and throw the other vampire out physically when Buffy came in. He felt his gut wrench and wanted to sweep her up in his arms. He had taken a step towards her when he noticed her companion. "Angel! Your...here." Buffy didn't look comfortable when she noticed Riley glaring at Angel, and vice versa. "I called her! Just thought she deserved to know you were in town!" Spike sounded almost happy about this little surprise. "Well...why are you here?" Buffy waited for Angel's response. "I...we, need your help." ~ Sera stood, and cleared her throat. "Buffy, this is Sera." Giles could sense the tension in the air. Feeling the blonde's gaze on her, Sera wanted to disappear into the floor. Obviously the girl had unresolved feelings concerning Angel, and resented her very presence in his life. Wanting to explain that there was nothing romantic between them but not exactly sure how to go about doing that, Sera sat. "Allo luv." Spike had somehow moved towards her with no one noticing and now settled down on the sofa beside her. She found him attractive, very attractive. If the circumstances had been different, then maybe she would have made a move on the bottled blonde vampire. Not now though, they had to figure out what was going to happen with the other Falonmiir's. Plus she had no real knowledge where men were concerned. ~ "Can we sit and discuss the current problem?" Giles' spoke up. Buffy turned to her friend and they had a brief, whispered conversation. He left shortly thereafter. Angel felt a flair of pain at the reality that Buffy had moved on without him. He had forced her to. Left when she asked him to stay. And it was killing him still, even after all this time. Shaking his head slightly, in an effort to push the treacherous thoughts away, he decided it was time to get down to business. ~ Angel described the situation quickly and efficiently. But he left out one important fact, Sera thought. Only cause he doesn't know yet, she chided herself. "How did you get to L.A.?" Giles was the first one to catch the missing detail. "I...this is gonna sound strange. I wished it." Sera expected the others to look at her with apprehension. They didn't disappoint. "Well, I didn't actually wish for L.A. but I did wish myself away from there, someplace where I could find safety. And it worked. I wasn't even surprised when I appeared on the road. I knew that I'd end up someplace where I could find help or get away. And I met Angel which was really lucky on my part." She waited for comments. When no one spoke up she explained. "My father had been born of a very powerful shaman and a Falonmiir. I ended up with some powers, sort of a residual effect. I'm not nearly as powerful as my grandfather or my father. I'm not sure why it manifested in a female, it's generally only been males. But I'm not complaining. It got me freedom, no matter how temporary." ~ It only took a few moments for every one to assess the situation and action was quickly decided on. Angel felt a peace he hadn't felt in a long time. Not since he had left Sunnydale. He enjoyed being here, preparing with Buffy. Giles had moved over towards Sera and they were discussing the weaknesses of the Falonmiir. What they would need to defeat them. Buffy and him and moved off to the other side of the room. They weren't talking but Angel felt that they were communicating anyway. Relying on each other, just like old times. He glanced over at Giles and Sera, and was surprised to see the girl sitting close to Spike. He was about to separate them when Buffy spoke. "Leave them. Spike knows not to hurt anyone or I'll kill him. We've come to an agreement. He doesn't touch anybody that's not demon and I let him live for a while longer." "But Sera's not human. Not totally anyway." Angel protested. "She doesn't seem to mind the attention." Buffy didn't know the girl but sensed that there was nothing going on between Angel and her. Seeing Sera smile at Spike the way Buffy had once smiled at him made him long for yesterday. Turning his attention back to the weapons laid out before him, he paused. "This is the sword you stabbed..." He stopped and rethought his words. They would have to be chosen carefully. "I remember this sword. It's from the night I kidnapped Giles and tried toawaken.." "I remember too." Buffy's eyes were on the floor and a single tear had appeared. "I'm so sorry. Buffy...I still love you. I just don't think it would work out for us. I mean your the slayer and I'm a vampire. A demon. We could never really be together." It was killing him to see her like this. "Let's just forget about it for now. We have a ass-kicking to prepare for." ~ They had all decided to have the fight just out of town. In the woods behind one of the local cemeteries. Once they had gathered all the supplies and gotten a hold of Willow, they headed out to the clearing. "Now just relax Sera. All you really need to do is wish them here. Willow will immediately do a binding spell, so none of them can leave here and we'll do battle." Giles sounded so sure of the fact that they would win, Sera wasn't quite as willing to take that bet. "Don't worry pet, I'll protect you." Sera smiled at the sound of Spike's voice. Angel had cast her a worried frown when she had stuck close to the other vampire while walking to the woods, but Sera felt a strong affinity with him. The need to destroy was something that she felt, she was just able to control it while the others of her kind couldn't. She, unlike them, felt the pain of consequences that weren't to her liking. "If everyone is ready, we'll begin." Buffy took control. "Here goes nothing." Sera whispered and felt Spike's reasuring hand on her back. ~ Just like before there was a flash of light and a thunderous boom that nearly knocked Angel off his feet. But this time he was prepared. As the scaly forms of the Falonmiir began to appear, he heard Willow begin to chant in a long dead language. The primal screams that shattered the stillness of the night were horrible to hear. When the women realized that they had been summoned to a battle, they were more than willing to meet the challenge. It took every once of strength to throw off the two who leapt on him. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Sera rush to help Willow fight off one of them. Seeing that between them they were holding their own, he turned his attention back to the matter at hand. Namely the hostile women trying to shred his skin from his body!! ~ Hearing a cry of pain, Sera glanced over at Giles and saw him on his back, trying desperately to avoid the razor sharp nails slashing at him. Looking at Willow for permission to leave for a moment, she never noticed the lead Falonmiir creeping up behind her. A sharp blow to the temple sent her rushing down to kiss the grass. She was unconscious before she even hit. Luckily Spike had been watching her back and he quickly killed the offending demon. Taking over for the little red haired witch in her battle, he told her to check and see if Sera was okay. "I don't feel a pulse! Oh my god, oh my god! Spike...I don't feel a pulse." The little witch was starting to hyperventilate. Rushing to her side, her shoved her out of the way and placed his ear against Sera's breast. Nothing, no heartbeat, no gasp for breath. "ANGELLLLLLL!" ~ He was just throwing the last dead Falonmiir off when Spike cried out. Meeting Buffy's gaze, they both recognized the anguish in the other vampire's voice. With a mutual nod, they both ran as fast as they could to the other side of the clearing, and the fallen girl. "Giles! Do something, anything!?!!" Spike was dragging the poor man to Sera's side, when they rushed up. "What exactly do you expect me to do?" A very irate Giles demanded as he pulled out of Spike's grasp and attempted to straighten his clothes. "It's not like she's dead. She's a demon, she doesn't have a heartbeat you pompous fool. She's probably just unconscious." Angel had to hold back the laughter he felt swelling up inside him. The look on Spike's face was priceless. Watching the anger fade into relief then rise again was more than he could stand, and with a snort he turned away. Only to meet Buffy's smirk and Willow's quirky smile. The three of them quickly dissolved into giggles. Imagine, a evil vampire worried about a 1/2 demon girl. And what made it even more priceless was that it was Spike. WILLIAM THE BLOODY! He just couldn't stop laughing. And yet Angel knew he was also concerned for the girl. ~ Sera heard them giggling even before she was fully conscious. "Just what is so funny?" She had meant to sound stern but when Spike looked at her...well it was like having her insides melt into pudding. What is up with that? she thought to herself as she allowed them to help her to her feet. "All that's left now is clean up!" Willow was the first one to look around at the mess. Sera glanced and saw body parts and pieces laying all over. The gooey purple blood staining the grass. "Well, this has turned out to be one hell of a night. First I get knocked on my ass then I have to clean up yours guys' mess. JOY!" Everyone looked at her like they weren't sure if she was serious. Failing at keeping the smile off her face, the laughs started all over until they were all gasping for breath. (Well maybe not the vampires, but you get the picture) ~ The gang was all at the Bronze few hours later, celebrating their victory. Angel sat beside Giles and they discussed the various adventures they had been on and what demons they had fought since parting ways. Buffy was on the payphone with Riley, trying to explain that they had nothing more to say to one other. Willow was excited about her intrical part in the win and bounced on her seat. Angel thought about how he had missed everyone. Including Xander and his dead boy comments. He would stay if Buffy asked him too. Let L.A. deal with their own demons. But he knew she wouldn't. Glancing around his old haunt, he caught sight of Spike and Sera, arms around each other, gazing into each others eyes. Those two together? "What a disturbing thought hey?" Buffy was back at the table. "I don't know, it's sort of romantic. They just met and yet they seem to fit so well together." Willow blushed when Buffy, Angel and Giles all whipped their heads around to look at her. "What?!? I just think they look good together." ~ Sera felt truely content for the first time in her life. "They're looking at us again pet." Spike's voice was low. "Let them look. I don't care! In fact I'm tempted to give them a show! Right here! Right now!" Spike's lips lowered and his voice was gravely as he asked, "Can we go somewhere?" It was sexy as hell, she decided. "Now, where would YOU like to take ME?" the tease was almost more than even she could stand, but she wanted to delay it for as long as possible. Get him really worked up. "Preferably someplace with a big, soft bed. And lot's of candles to illuminate your skin..." Meeting his gaze Sera realized that he had caught on to her and was more than willing to play the game. They swayed to the music for a little while longer, before sneaking out of the club and finding that big old bed Spike had promised!!! =+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+= The End 1
