The young woman came stumbling out of the inky darkness and dropped to the pavement beneath the solitary street light. Pushing herself back to her feet, she hobbled a few more steps and grasped the lamp post. It seemed to tax all her strength just to do that, and she slid bonelessly into a sitting postion. Hiding in the shadows, Spike watched to see what would happen. Something was up tonight, he could feel it in the air. But he wasn't sure what she had to do with it. As she slumped over, the long dark trench coat she had been holding closed was forgotten and her hand fell to her side. The opening created, revealed bare flesh. She wasn't even wearing a bra. The small skirt she had on came to mid thigh but had ridden up as she met the ground. Her legs were slighty parted, revealing no underwear and some serious bruising. Knee-high boots covered the bottom part of her legs, but one heel was broken off. Realizing that she had been raped, Spike was about to rush out and help her, when he heard a soft clucking sound. Deciding to wait and see, he was glad he did. "Now, now, now. Is that any way to spend your first night as a slayer? On the ground and weak after a good fuck!" Chuckling Angelus stepped out of the darkness where the girl had and caually strolled towards the prone girl. Why didn't she run. Spike was mulling over wether to go to her aid. "I rather enjoyed myself! Didn't you?" he crouched down and grabbed her chin painfully. She shoved his hand away, but made no attempt to escape. The defiance in her eyes was evident and her retort was quite audible. "FUCK YOU!!" and she spat in his face. Spike watched as his sire removed a hanky from his pocket and calmly wiped her salvia from his face. "Come on Jax. I'm only offering you my friendship. And my bed from time to time!" his smile was predatory. The girl snorted in contempt and looked away. When he reached for her slim arm, she flinched. Then glared at him around angry tears. "Look, I just want you to go away! I don't know anything about a slayer and I don't really care! So why don't you just LEAVE ME THE FUCK ALONE!!!" Seeing that his sire had lost his patience, Spike began to pity the girl. He wasn't too suprised when Angelus' fist connected with her jaw and she feel silent. What did suprise him, was seeing him pick up the unconcious girl and sling her over his shoulder. Deciding he had better find out what was going on, Spike took a step into the light. "Up to something? he questioned as he moved towards them. "Bagged me a slayer!" Angelus fairly gloated. "She wasn't nearly strong enough to be a slayer! She didn't even try to fight. Not a very effective slayer in my book." Spike tried to get a rise out of him, hoping he could rescue the girl with Angelus distracted. But he didn't rise to the bait. "She's not really a slayer yet. But she will be. In just a few more minutes. Come to my place and you'll discover how." Shrugging Spike decided to follow. It would be intresting and he could watch for a opportunity to save her. ~ Once they had arrived, Angelus dropped the girl on the floor. She landly loudly in a jumble on limbs. Still unconcious, Spike noted. Smelling blood, he glanced up as Dru came into the room, with a bound and very dead Faith. She had minor cuts all over her body and two puncture wounds at the base of her throat. A dead slayer meant trouble and Spike wanted none of it, but knew he couldn't leave Jax alone with them. Growling, Angelus' face morphed and he swept Dru up into his arms, placing a cruel kiss on her cold lips. "Dru had a vision a few nights ago. Saw Faith die and Jax be called in her place. We thought we'd get to her first. You know sort of like a welcoming party." Angelus smirked. "Why rape her?" Spike wasn't sure he wanted to know the answer. "Just to make sure she knew she was part of our family. I want to break her, make her mine!" Angelus was leering at the prone girl. Spike grimaced and wished he were anywhere else. Neither Dru or his sire noticed, they were too busy dealing with their intended victim. After Jax' feet had been chained and her wrists bound, Faith was dragged over to her and layed out at her feet. "Now the fun begins!" Dru clapped her hands. Leaning over Jax, Angelus placed a stake within easy reach and tapped her gently on the cheek. Spike wondered just what the hell he was gonna witness. "Wake up sleeping beauty." his sire coaxed. As Jax began to come around, they could all see the changes in her, the newfound strength. Watching her Angelus backed up to stand beside Spike and smiled with what could only be identified as glee. "Buffy is gonna get hers, very soon. Especially when I have the new slayer on my side." Jax was mad! Not scared! Not confused! She was MAD!! Flexing her now stronger muscles, she realized she was bound with a thick rope. Fascinated by her reaction to the new power she felt, Spike was startled by the soft keening coming from the floor. Faith was a vampire.Holy shit! And a newborn, which meant she was hungry. Glancing back at Jax, he watched in shock as she easily snapped the rope binding her wrists and grabbed the stake. Faith was dust! Just like that! Jax really is the slayer! Spike wasn't sure how to react to this new info. "Oh! Can we keep her? Please luv?" Dru was dancing around them in excitment. "Faster than I thought you'd be! First time and all, dusting a vampire." Angelus taunted her, which Spike didn't think was such a great idea. Throwing himself to floor, Spike was amazed he'd been spared. Not bu much though, he had felt the stake part his blonde hair. Damn but she's fast! Looking to see what she has hit, he saw Dru explode into a pile of dust. SHIT!! This might be a problem, he concluded. Now all he was worried about was getting out in one piece! "Naughty, naughty!" Angelus didn't seem the least bit upset about the loss of his childe. Spike got to his feet slowly, watching the new slayer with a wary look on his face. "Did ya know she was a virgin when i met her two nights ago?" Angelus confided to Spike. "But I gave her a few lessons. She was a quick study. Learned right away to do it my way. Didn't struggle much. Wonder if that'll change now that she's a slayer." His words didn't seem to have any affect on the girl, and this bothered Angelus. She didn't blink or twitch with barely controlled anger. She simply stood there, ankles manacled to the floor, glaring at Angelus. Spike was glad it wasn't him on the recieving end of that stare. It was now his sire that he pitied the girl would kill him first chance she had. And Spike was certain she'd succeed. The murderous venom in her blue eyes was enough, that he's lay odds on it. And it would be soon. "Give me the key!" Jax' words were a barely veiled threat that sent shivers down Spike's spine. And he's been immortal for hundreds of years. Even Angelus sensed the danger and no longer wanted to play this game. Tossing the keys to Spike, he headed for the door. "She's your problem now!" He didn't even make it to the doorway, when Buffy and Giles appeared. "Hello lover." It was Angelus' turn to be taunted by the petite blonde. Snarling, game face on, he lunged. But buffy was ready for this and twisted just out of reach. Stepping close before he could recover his momentum, she brought Mr. Pointy down. The battle was over as quickly as it had began. Angelus met the same fate as Faith and Dru. Returning his gaze to Jax, Spike moved forward and unlocked her chains. "Thanks." the girl was smiling down at him as he knelt by her feet. Feeling a funny twist in his stomach, he looked away. Heading back towards the Watcher and his slayer he wanted to know some things. "How did you know..." "Ancient prophesies! Aren't they great." Buffy grinned and went over to introduce herself to the new slayer. "Good thing you were here, Spike!" "But I didn't do anything." he wasn't sure why the watcher was relieved at his presence. "Just in case we'd arrived late, I know you would have rescued the girl. We almost didn't figure it out in time." Collecting the girls, everyone headed for Giles'. It was time to prepare Jax for her future. The End 1
