APPENDIX D
TEMPERATURE DEFINITION
Since in the new theories any kind of radiation is considered as a radiation of photons, a definition of the magnitude temperature in terms of the photons particles is needed.
It will be only outlined here some concepts needed to be considered for a possible future definition of temperature.
It should be considered that temperature is an indication of the energy’s intensity of radiation of photons by an object.
It is suggested here to consider the possibility of definition of the magnitude temperature at some place of Space using the value of the energy of all the photons that pass through a unity area of a planar surface in a unity of time in one direction perpendicular to the surface only.
If we consider as εn the energy of each of the photons that pass through the surface in one direction only the quantity obtained by the sum Σ εn of all the photons passing through the surface divided by the area and the time considered will give a value that seems to be directly related to what is known as temperature at that place.
Some constant added could give the value of temperature in a particular system of unity of temperature.
Of course the temperature defined this way must be equivalent to that considered in Thermodynamics.
