DENBY DALE TRAVELLERS

Fell Running

Mick Baldwin in action at Ilkley Moor

FRA RelayEnnerdale, Cumbria

Sunday 18 October 2009

The Travellers have entered a strong team to take part in the FRA and a good showing is expected. The team is as follows:

Leg 1: Ross McClelland (AS Solo - 5.8m/1500ft)

Leg 2: Steve Blackford and Simon Browne (AM Pairs - 6.7m/2500ft)

Leg 3: Dave Gill and Stuart Yates (Orienteering Pairs - 5.6m/1410ft)

Leg 4: Alistair Rees (AS Solo - 5.1m/1600ft

The race is based at the Ennerdale Show Field, The Leaps, Kirkland (GR 087184). Cumberland Fell Runners who are organising the event say ‘the terrain is not rugged thus the running will be fast and not too technical. By contrast the Orienteering leg will be a tester’.

The race starts at 10.30 am and maps detailing the legs to be run will be provided on the day. Anyone who would like to support the team, please contact Richard Howard.
