The race is a 3 stage relay, based on the route of the Dearne Way Path. The route is almost entirely off-road, with no main road crossings and is suitable for runners of all abilities. The race starts at 10.00am on Sunday 27 September, from The Pie Hall, Denby Dale. For maps of the course and an entry form, follows the links below right. · Leg 1 Pie Hall, Denby Dale to Bretton Park (6 miles approx) · Leg 2 Bretton Park to the Pie Hall (6 miles approx) · Leg 3 Pie Hall to Birdsedge and back (6 miles approx) Those with good memories will remember the race a few years ago as a mid-week event held around mid-summer. As it was just about dark when some runners were finishing, Sunday morning might be a better time for the event and yes, by starting at 10.00am we should finish just in time for a pint in the Pie Hall! |
