From Finals:
1. Most finals have 3 hour time limits. In most cases, if you need the full 3 hours you are either a moron or really wanting to tick off your TAs (an intriguing idea).
2. Do course evaluations really matter? Who knows. But you can use them to vent your frustrations at your crappy calculus teacher.
3. If you study properly and basically know what you're doing finals week will be almost as easy as the first week of classes.
4. If you help someone prepare for a final they just might feel eternally indebted to you. *Laughs maniacally*
5. If the person you helped prepare for the final ends up getting a better grade in the class than you...or if the person who continually came to you for help throughout the semester aces the class and you end up with a B+++...sigh.
6. Some wise guy will feel the need to pull the fire alarm in the middle of the morning before the first day of finals. Guaranteed.
7. A 7:30 AM final isn't as bad as it sounds. At least you get it over with and don't have to worry about it the whole day (you can spend that time worrying about your other finals yet to come).
8. If, by chance, your roommate whom you despise finishes finals and leaves a few days early, it's time to PAAAAAAAAAR-TAY!
9. Everyone associated with the college has increased sympathy during finals. Lots of free take-home snacks in the cafeteria, etc. Heck, maybe you could even get out of some of those parking tickets...
10. Although I didn't really have a problem with it, should you struggle with finals you can always think "There's always next semester."
11. The thought that you will soon be home, have a month off, and be able to see all your friends can be a powerful force to propel you through finals.
From Winter Break:
12. While home you might just find that very little has changed.
13. You'll never appreciate home-cooked food more in your life.
14. Visiting your high school can be a great way to catch up with old friends and teachers, but be prepared to get some stares.
15. People that really care about you won't forget you. They just aren't always able to keep in touch.
16. Christmas, which perhaps loses some of its magic while in high school, becomes special again.
17. Your high school goes on without you. New people rise to take whatever space you filled and do an excellent job of it.
18. It's great to have a month off but if you're not working once your friends are back in school you'll get bored out of your mind.
19. Winter break is a great time to forget all your frustrations from first semester and at least make preparations to try to fix your problems next semester. (insert roommate slam here)
20. Going back to college is mixed. I was holy bored and ready to challenge my mind again but kinda wished I could do it from home.
21. You might just be glad to see some people when you go back.
22. True friendship survives long distances and absences. I guess absence does make the heart grow fonder. |
