Friends Continued

Rachel

Rachel the Crazy Redhead--Rachel's personality is as fiery as her hair.  She is without a doubt the funniest person I have ever met, both when she tries and doesn't try to be funny.  Her great sense of humor makes her very well-liked and has often picked me up when I've been feeling low.  She's also very smart, a fellow clarinetist, and a track and cross-country star.  We love to chat on the Net and probably will continue to do so as she heads off to that other Kansas university.

Julie

Julie the Musician--Julie is most likely the most talented musician I have ever personally known of any age level.  She plays both the piano and violin with extraordinary skill and dedication.  More than that, she's one of the nicest girls you'll ever meet and has a deep sense of spirituality that you can only admire.  Throughout high school we faced off in friendly competition and probably each worked harder in the process.  I am very pleased to have her as a fellow KU student.  She plans to be a professional accompanist.  When she debuts at Carnegie Hall (or is accompanying someone)  I'll be sure to be there.

Krisha

Krisha the Other Traitor--I'll remember Krisha most from our wonderful experiences in Scholars' Bowl.  A year older than me, Krisha was a valuable team member but when she messed up she had a tendency to bring us all down with her.  At least we could all laugh about it (eventually).  Krisha also slaved away at Boogaarts, and she was always there for me to have a nice conversation with.  She sucks as a pitch partner though :).  Nowadays Krisha attends KSU (I'll forgive her) and is studying to be some kind of forest ranger, I think.

Mike the (snicker) Pro Wrestler--Mike and I go all the way back to Hays.  We didn't see each other for a long time but fortunately we both chose the right college to attend so now we hang out and do such stuff as make fun of our goober calculus teacher and crappy football team.  Mike is obsessed with wrestling, even taking to the ring himself (check out my links page).  Despite this oddity he's a smart cookie and an all around great guy.  Gotta give him and Amber (below) credit for helping me design this beast.

Mike

Kylene the Drum Majorette--Yet another talented musician, Kylene plays violin, piano, clarinet, accordion, and perhaps some others that I'm not aware of.  She's a wonderful drum majorette and did a great job of showing me the ropes last year; I also have to give her credit for putting up with my crap in three years of band.  Like my other friends she's very nice and intelligent and also a fellow KU student.

Natalie

Natalie the Flower Girl--Kylene's best friend so far as I can tell, Natalie is also a fellow KU'er.  During high school Natalie was in an overwhelming majority of my classes; whether that's a blessing or a curse is for her to decide.  It gave us an opportunity to become friends despite frequent arguments over the likes of physics.  We were great calculus study buddies, but I guess she's too smart for my services now :).  Currently Natalie is majoring in elementary education I believe, although it could change.  Whatever she chooses I'm sure she'll do fine.

Amber

Artsy Amber (little alliteration there)--Also a Hays resident, I have seen Amber perhaps twice since fifth grade.  Thanks to the wonder of the Internet we restablished contact last year and Amber has become one of my better friends, dispensing wonderful advice and always being a great listener.  She is currently at Fort Hays State with plans to pursue a multimedia design fine arts major at Kansas State.

Geoff the Future...uh, I'm not at liberty to say--After I left Beloit, Geoff did an excellent job replacing me as Scholars' Bowl captain, and is much more of a math whiz than I ever was or will be.  While we don't see eye-to-eye on many issues, it's always been fun getting into deep discussions with him on pretty much any topic imaginable.  His most prized possession is obviously his hair, and I dare say he should be proud of it.  Geoff will be attending K-State double majoring in veterinary science and physics.  Why physics?  Someday you will understand, but by then it will be too late....HAHAHAHA....
