Bali is a province of Indonesia. The province covers a few small neighbouring islands as well as the isle of Bali. Lombok is an island in West Nusa Tenggara (Nusa Tenggara Barat or NTB) province, Indonesia. It forms part of the chain of the Lesser Sunda Islands, with the Lombok Strait separating it from Bali to the west and the Alas Strait between it and Sumbawa to the east. It is roughly circular, with a "tail" (Sekotong Peninsula) to the southwest, about 70 km across and a total area of about 4,725 km² (1,825 sq mi). The provincial capital and largest city on the island is Mataram. It is somewhat similar in size and density with neighboring Bali and shares some cultural heritage, but is administratively part of NTB along with sparsely populated Sumbawa. It is surrounded by a number of smaller islands locally called Gili.
Bali
Pulau Bali sering dijuluki dengan berbagai-bagai nama oleh wisatawan, di antaranya disebut "Bali, the island of the thousand temples" artinya Bali adalah pulau dengan ribuan buah pura. Kadangkala disebut pula dengan nama pulau dewata atau "the island of Gods" dari beberapa julukan lain yang menarik. Dalam kenyataan memang terlihat banyak pura di Bali dan tersebar di seluruh daerah Bali.
Menurut keadaan tahun 1979 tercatat jumlah pura di Bali 5.259 buah yang terdiri dari 9 buah Kahyangan jagat Bali, Dang Kahyangan 714 buah,Kahyangan Tiga 4.368 buah. Jumlah tersebut tidak termasuk tempat suci pemujaan roh suci leluhur yang disebut Pura Kawitan atau Padadyan. Adanya banyak pura di Bali bukan lah berarti umat Hindu di Indonesia menganut kepercayaan politeistik, melainkan tetap monoteistik karena yang di-stanakan di Pura itu adalah prabawa Hyang Widi sesuai dengan fungsinya.
Raja Ampat
Raja Ampat adalah pecahan Kabupaten Sorong, sejak 2003. Kabupaten berpenduduk 31 ribu jiwa ini memiliki 610 pulau (hanya 35 pulau yang dihuni) dengan luas wilayah sekitar 46.000 km2, namun hanya 6.000 km2 berupa daratan, dan 40.000 km2 lautan. Pulau-pulau yang belum terjamah dan lautnya yang masih asri membuat wisatawan langsung terpikat.
Kepulauan Raja Ampat terletak di barat laut kepala burung Pulau Papua, dengan kurang lebih 1.500 pulau kecil dan atoll, serta 4 pulau besar utama, yakni Misol, Salawati, Bantata, dan Waigeo. Inilah yang kemudian menjadikan Raja Ampat taman laut terbesar di Indonesia.
Wilayah ini sempat menjadi incaran para pemburu ikan karang dengan cara mengebom dan menebar racun sianida. Namun, masih banyak penduduk yang berupaya melindungi kawasan itu, sehingga kekayaan lautnya bisa diselamatkan.
Terumbu karang di laut Raja Ampat dinilai terlengkap di dunia. Dari 537 jenis karang dunia, 75 persennya berada di perairan ini. Ditemukan pula 1.104 jenis ikan, 669 jenis moluska (hewan lunak), dan 537 jenis hewan karang.
