BINOMIAL DISTRIBUTION

Probability for a binomial distribution:

P(x) = nCx(px)(1-p)n-x

n!

= ---------- px(1-p)n-x

x!(n-x)!

where x is the number of successes in n trials and

x = 0,1,2,3,...n.

Note: n! = n factorial (0! = 1)

Example (Coin Tossing Game):

Toss a coin 10 times. Take head as the outcome of success. Calculate:

a) The probability of getting 8 heads in 10 tosses.

b) A binomial distribution (0 to 10 head)
