The history of the game
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

This game tells you an amazing story about usual pussy cat, that travels around the 
Russian village and takes part in an unusual situations. This game is written about my 
cat and, actually, I dedicate this game to her. Her name is Frosya.

The story isnt very unusual for cats life:
 
Once upon a time, when I was around 9 years old, we had taken a small kitten, and we 
had called it Frosya. Since that time, we got a new person in our family, because we 
could count her a real part of our little family society.

After a few months, when Frosya already had enough time to feel her as a real hostess 
of our house, my Grandmother Vera noticed a man at the pond, who was going to 
drown a bag of puppies. She, ofcourse was against of such action. After a small 
discussion, they had she obtained the whole bag of puppies. After opening it, she 
founded that there was only one puppy there. Not thinking a lot, she agreed to bring 
him to me, because I never saw puppies in that early age.

As I remember now, I was fond of that cute puppy and asked everybody to let him stay 
at home. It wasnt easy and after hundreds of promisings to be an obedient child, I was 
allowed to have that puppy as a pet. I called him Uzor, what means Colorful if to 
translate his name in English

Frosya was against it with all her four paws and a tail. She didnt like him and, though 
she were a kitten too, she was very aggressive to a new pet. And it was extremly 
difficult to make them be loyal to each other. But they never liked each other and 
struggled to gain more love from us.

When Frosya had kittens herself, it was in the next year, Uzor agreed to take 
vengeance on ones enemy. Once, when Frosya left her two kittens in the box and went 
somewhere for a small walk, insidious Uzor went in the Frosya`s room, that is attic, 
actually and took one kitten from the box.

When Frosya came she couldnt find where her orange kitten was. She searched every 
corner but there was even no smell of him. She went to the Uzor that was sleeping in 
the front corner of the attic. He was looking very unusual and it could be easily noticed 
that the dog hides something. Frosya was right  she saw her kitten in the paws of the 
dog. Uzor didn`t want to give the kitten back until Frosya would apologize for all the 
sorrows of the dog, for all hostility of Frosya. Frosya was shocked by such action of the 
dog, she was thinking good of last time. But there was no other way to bring the poor 
kitten back, but to bring Uzor something to eat.

The aim of the game
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Frosya has to collect 255 pieces of food that Frosya can feed to Uzor. All food that 
Frosya an collect flashes and Frosya will easily find it. Frosya has only around 3 hours of 
our time to solve the quest, because a kitten wont stay long without warmth of its 
mother.

Frosya has to walk around our village, trying not to be cathced by enemy creatures, 
moving electronics and everything else that could make harm to the cat. Frosya already 
lost two of her lives and now she has only seven lives. She has to collect all items in 
137 rooms and to come back alive to the attic, where Uzor stands. If all items would be 
founded  Uzor will honestly leave the attic and will let Frosya to meet her kitten.

game has a close connection with Russian life, facts from my life and many interesting 
things. I recommend you to have a look at it.

The game engine and more info

Frosya is a game, fully based on the Jet set Willy engine originaly created by 
Matthew Smith and copyrighted by Software Projects in 1984, owned by Jester 
Interactive since 2001. Frosya is the game that usses an upgraded engine that uses 
128K ZX memory. This engine was created by John Elliott. Frosya the cat is absolutely 
new game, that has no actual connections with Jet Set Willy world. Everything that has 
connections with it is a special tributes to the game I like most of all on ZX. This game 
has new characters and the plot of the game.

I used to create this game using John Elliotts JSWED 2.0.3 and was a bit edited with 
his new JSWED 2.1.8. This game was released first in march of 2002, but it contained 
a lot of bugs and it was impossible to finish it. After fixing half of the bugs, I`ve 
released a simpler version of Frosya  Frosya lite version in the summer of 2002, 
but even this version contained bugs and was impossible to be finished. Now, in 
september of 2004 I release a fully 100% made and playable and even finishable 
version of this game with a lot of new added stuff, including new intro screens and two 
new text files, including with the game.

Frosya the cat is a medium-level game. I tried to make it the same level of difficult as 
Jet Set Willy. This game ofcourse seems to be more difficult, because it has more than 
twice amount of rooms than there were in the original JSW and there are 255 items in 
the game, instead of 83 in the original JSW. Thats why this game is harder, but the 
rooms in the game seems to be not very difficult.

This game has a few multiple-death scenarios, but getting in them is the result of a 
non-professional player control only. All of them appear rather seldom and could be 
seen from far-distance. In such rooms, player has to understand that a small mistake 
can cause a meeting with a foot. I want to say, that I tried to be fearful with the 
player.

Wanted to warn you, that I recommend you to collect all the items in the room you visit 
not to left a room with a non-collected rooms, because it can be a matter when it will 
be very difficult to make your way back to the previous room, though it is always 
possible to do.

I`ve tried to delete all bugs from the game. So you can finish my game if you`ll want 
to do it. I do not promise you that you will gain this result for the first time. Finishing 
any Jet Set Willy game isnt easier, than launching a rocket into the space, using the 
pocket calculator. All items could be picked up but I still cant promise that there are no 
bugs at all. Ofcourse some players could be so experienced in JSW engine (much more, 
than I do) and to find some hidden ways that I didn`t want to create and to get 
somewhere where they will kill Willy. But, as the Russian proverb says, Curious 
Barbara has had her nose cut off in the market. :-)

You can cheat while playing this game, but I warn you, that unfair game is worst of all 
kind of playing. I was making my game for fair play with seven lives and no 
WRITETYPER cheats. It is able to play with them, but youll loose all the interest.

Loading instructions 
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

To play my game, you`ll need a special program that will allow you to play my game, 
written for ZX spectrum based computers. Though in our progressive time only a few 
can have ZX Spectrum real computer, many people use special programs, that emulate 
the ZX way of working on all up-to-date computers, using modern operation systems. 
And you will have to install the emulator first and then open the main game file 
JCFrosya.tap. 
 
How to open it. If you have a ZX Spectrum emulator installed on your system, it will 
probably recognize tap files and will run them with no problems. If you have any 
problems with this action, you can do it manually. Click on the tap file with the right 
button of your mouse and to secect Open with. Then youll have to point it to the 
exe file of your emulator. 
 
The only requirement for the ZX Spectum Emulator is ability to run 128K games. If you 
dont know where to find it, ask Yahoo!, for example, or check our Yahoo! Group, 
dedicated to Jet Set Willy, founded by Andrew Broad.

Disclaimer

My game has, actually, no violence and documentary views of sexual acts. But, in some 
rooms, player can meet something, that can cause harm to his mental heath, thats 
why I agreed to warn you, that, in the next few rooms, player can see something 
unusual. Though, I dont think, that ZX Spectrum visual graphic ability is able to cause 
harm to anybody. 
 
You`ll have to take my game not very seriously, I made it with smile and all scenes are 
nothing more, than jokes. 
 
Room 49: Balloon fetish room. 
Balloon fetish was once noticed by me in the internet where, as I understand, people 
share their love to balloons. I like balloons too, but, as I now think, not as much, as 
they are :-). Here you can see two toy-bears, riding two balloons. This bears could be 
meet in a few other rooms too. For example, in the bathroom. 

Room 72: The develish Maria and the axe 
The only room with a few actions of violence. Maria the housekeeper whips Willy at his 
back and the action, Frosya can do with Maria in the next room.

Room 79: Poor Willy! He couldnt make it! 
Drowned Willy in the water 
 
Room 114: The porno store from the galaxy. 
Contains three sexual-oriented guardians and the unusual name. 
 
Room 126: Urine waterfall 
Can cause not very good associations

Room 127  133 (Willys mansion) 
Full of sexual animated sprites and familiar actions. You ought not to take it seriously. 
All, what is created here is a single big joke.

I let you to take any rooms and any sprites from my game and inserting them into 
yours, but I asking you very much, please make a note that you did in your games 
readme file, including inserting a note that JCFrosya is my copyright. In case of not 
doing so, I wont do anything bad to you, but I will offended and your work would be 
nothing more, than the plagiatrism. So, please do what you want with my game,but 
follow what I ask you.

If you will rerelease my game on different platforms please tell me about it to. The only 
object, why youll have to do it  to let me know, that somebody wants to rerelease my 
game. I will be very happy, but I think that It wont happen.

contained a lot of bugs and actually wasnt playable at all. 
 
After a lot of bugs-fixing, appeared to be a slightly easier game and was reloaded to a 
site a lot of times. 
 
September, 2002.  Frosya the cat, lite version released 
The game was remaked to be easier, but, again, it wasnt playable, because amount of 
bugs in it. 
 
Septembe, 2004  Jet Set Frosya or the last version released. 
Fully playable and containing no bugs. Finishable.

why dog Uzor dislikes Frosya the cat and even kiddnapped her kitten, where Uzor the 
dog will be under you control, with JSW 64 engine.
