Gengsang Chu(12)
1 If a man doesn’t care for praising and reproaching, reputation and slander can’t obsess him.
2 The platform of execution in autumn is high. The man, who shouts that he, will be a regular brick again after twenty years, has no acrophobia.
3 For the same reason, if a man of practice accomplishes the practice of no-self to neglect the difference between self and others, he will not be angry and annoyed for other’s reproaching.
4 A man of practice who can reach the level of no-self, and be flexibility, he has been in the utmost state that he is integrated with nature. He doesn’t feel happy when you compliment and respect him; he doesn’t feel angry when you insult and curse him.
5 Even shout irately, the shout he throws out is triggered from self-nature, Buddha-nature, breath, calmness and refinement. Actually, his inside is tranquil and peace.
6 A man of practice who persists in non-action, doesn’t meanings he will do nothing. He still does something; however, the things he doing is from the requests of self-nature, Buddha-nature, breath, calmness and refinement. His mind doesn’t mess up for these actions.
7 His mind doesn’t stir up for the outward stimulation. He obtains soundness and tranquilness so Qi calms down. Hence, his practice hits the road.
8 A man of practice does worldly things because he conforms to self-nature, Buddha-nature, breath, calmness and refinement. He is forced to do them. The attitude of being forced to do something is one of characters of the man of practice.
