庚桑楚(十)



1 Houyi was an excellent marksman; however, he was a layman in the way of practice, because, he did less in repressing the impulses of the will, such as eliminating nobility, richness, eminence, stateliness, fame and interest.

后羿精於射箭,是一名神射手; 可是在修行的道路上,他卻是一名門外漢。因為最起碼的徹志之勃---消除貴、富、顯、嚴、名、利等方面,他就做的不夠。

羿工乎中微而拙乎使人無己譽。

2 The common men of practice usually do well in the practice of “nature of nature”. They work hard in practice of Zen, sitting in meditation, pondering in silence and staying in stillness, but do worse in the practice of “nature of human”. Only those who can accomplish the two practices at the same time are the men of perfect practice.

一般修行人在屬於“天之天” 的部份做的不錯。禪修、打坐、默想、處閒靜處等都確實用功。可是人之天的部份就差些。只有修行完備的全人能夠將“天之天”,“人之天” 都做的完美無缺。

聖人工乎天而拙乎人。

3 As the matter of fact, it is not difficult to practice the “nature of human” and the “nature of nature” at the same time. The key point is that we should give up much bondage and care of the objective conditions.

其實,同時做到天之天與人之天這兩件事,也不是什麼困難的事,問題在於,我們捨棄不掉,太多客觀條件的牽掛與束縛。

4 All creatures except human are playing well of their own role in universe. Do creatures, however, know that they are engaged in their own and natural missions? Obviously, they are not. They bustle just according to their nature role.

我們看人類除外的生物,它們在扮演自己的角色,以及自然的角色時,都能做好其分內的工作。而這些生物在行動的當兒,又是否知道,自己是在從事生物界以及自然界的任務呢?當然不是。它們只是按照其本性的要求,因而忙碌一生,如此而已。

5 So we hold that when the men of prefect practice develop “nature of nature” and do well the practice of “nature of human”, they do them according to Tao and under the guidance of self-nature, Buddha-nature, Qi, calmness and refinement. They accomplish the practice naturally.

所以,我們所知道的修行完備的全人,他們發展天之天,同時做好人之天的行為;也只不過是依道而行,讓氣、自性、佛性、拙火、妙用等去主導,自自然然地完成這些修行的重要工作。

6 For this reason, only by repressing the impulses of the will, eliminating the ridiculousness of mind, removing the encumbrance of moral and getting through the obstructs of Tao, the men of practice can obtain sound, tranquil and peaceful mood. Let self-nature arise and guide their behaviors, so they can accomplish the things that conform to nature and human as other creatures do. Naturally, they become complete men with perfect practice.

所以,修行人只要能徹志之勃、解心之謬、去德之累、達道之塞; 從而進入沉穩,安寧,祥和之境,讓自性等昇起,讓自性來主導他們的行為,那麼,諸如 “工乎天”而 “俍乎人” 之類的事,也就能如其他生物一樣的順利完成,因而自自然然地,成為一名全人、一名修行完備的人了。

夫工乎天而俍乎人者,唯全人能之。唯蟲能蟲, 唯蟲能天。全人惡天?惡人之天?而況吾天乎人乎!
